She had slept in the room alone last night, she hadn't even been sure where Giovanni had gone but she didn't care.
She was glad.
She didn't want to share a room with him anyway, let alone a bed. The only reason she forced herself under those covers, beside him was because she had been caught by the Ramos'.And when she woke this morning, to enter the hotel room kitchen, he wasn't there either.
She finished off her cereal and pulled her phone out of her pocket. There was one person she could talk to about this.
She quickly typed in the number and listened as the tone began.
'Come on!' Pick up.' She tapped her spoon against the bowl.
"Hello?"
"Joon!""Hey! Thanks for sending me the phone. I got rid of everything. His password to his emails was his wife's name. This man couldn't be any more white collar."
"Wow, what an idiot." Cece agreed, rushing the conversation."Okay! I know that tone, what's up?" Cece had no idea how she'd even bring up the idea. If Giovanni did have something to do with her father's death - anyone that was looking into it would be next on his hit list.
Still, she didn't have many other choices."Ce?" Joon asked.
"I need you to do something for me. Something big! But you can't tell anyone! Not a soul."
"What is it?"
"You have to promise me first Joon! Please."
"I can't promise you if I don't know what it is?" This was starting to sound like a bad idea."Please! I have no one else I can tell." She sighed into the phone. There was a long pause, she almost hung up, regretting it altogether.
"Okay!" Joon replied swiftly. "I promise." She felt relieved. Joon had always been on her side.
'I need you to look into Giovanni Rossi!" She asked. Another long pause.
"I shouldn't have promised." He chuckled through the steel. "Why do you want me to look into your boss? The boss of the New York Crime Syndicate?""I think he killed my dad." Joon didn't reply, Cece was starting to get sick of all these long pauses.
"Shit." Shit? That's all he said. Cece's stomach was starting to knot. "Why do you think that?"
"I just got the hint off someone."
"A good someone or a bad someone?"
"Honestly? I can't even tell anymore." She stated. Julian had told her to make her mad, for her to question where her loyalty stood. But he had also told her so she would know the truth. Whatever reason he did it, didn't matter. The fact was that he did and he was the only one that told her too."If I do this - and he or someone who works for him starts to catch on, this could put me in danger."
"I know!"
"Just tell me what!" He asked."What do you mean what?"
"If I do this, and he was involved - what will you do about it?" It was a question that had been on her mind ever since she found out."I can't let him get away with it Joon." She admitted.
"You'll have a big red target on your back. And I want to be by your side but it can't just be me and you."
"What about Tommy?"
"So the three of us? Taking down the entire Italian mob? It's not a very sturdy plan Francesca.""I know you think I am overthinking or being dramatic. But Giovanni, he was there by my family's side all these years. If he did have something to do with it, it means he's a psychopath. He acted his part all this time, feeding off the fact I had no idea. He slept with my mother and passed her around like a dark joke. If he did the same thing to your father, your mother....your family? What would you do Joon?" Her heart was beating fast and tears pinched at the corners of her eyes.
