Rule #143: Never Fall in Love with a GL (English V2.0)Code of Conduct 13
Hay Lin's POV
"Brat, I must make Hevo fall in love fast," I said.
"Are you out of your mind, Hay Lin?" Mia asked incredulously.
"Remember Charm's plan? I think it would work."
"Oh that. I think so," Mia said unsure.
"I know so." I held her hand. "You have to help me."
"Of course! We are always at your back."
I hugged her. "Thanks Mia." I collected my things that she kept for me since I left them at school because of my date with Hevo.
"You better not cut class again, brat," Mia reprimanded and I smiled guilty as I left her house.
After Hevo's earthshaking question, I started fretting about it. How would you know if you are in love? I absolutely cannot ask the brats about this because they are too smart to jump into conclusions that this has something to do with Hevo.
I am also afraid to ask my mom. I mean, there are a whole lot of lawsuits in the Philippines to look into than my stupid nonsense query.
All I know right now is I am not in love. I can't be in love especially if it is with Hevo. Sure, I enjoy his company... a lot and I feel something foreign when I am with him but it can't be love, can it? I can't possibly be in love. Right? Right.
When I entered home, I heard the clacking of spoons and forks and plates by the dining area.
"Hey sweetie, you're already here. What took you so long?" My mom asked.
"Er, I stopped by at Mia first."
"It's fine. Come here and seat." My dad urged.
"That's a cute outfit, Lin," My mom complimented. I smiled as I remembered the story behind this. "Thanks. I like this one, too."
"We have exciting news for you, honey," My dad said.
"What is it? Are we going to Germany?" I asked excited.
They laughed, "No, honey. Perhaps some other time."
I pouted, "I just thought you have finally considered taking me there."
They laughed again. My parents always find me amusing, huh.
"Maybe next year."
Yay! "Promise?"
My dad promised and I couldn't stop smiling ear to ear.
"Dad, I want a tangible promise written, notarized that I can look upon to next year."
My parents laughed again. "Okay, I'll get working on it after the party," Mom volunteered.
"What party?" I asked.
"That's what I was going to tell you." Dad said. "An invitation arrived this morning."
I waited more. Geez! What's with the suspense? I have had many surprises for one day.
"It's a homecoming party."
"Homecoming?" Who's coming home?
"Yes. It's the Ross family's homecoming."
My eyes widened. "Ross? They're visiting?"
"No, sweetie," Mom shook her head smiling. "They are staying for good."
"For good?"
My mom laughed. "Sweetie, why are you repeating what we're saying?"
"You mean, they're staying like they'll live here?" I asked incredulous.
"Yes. They are staying like they'll live here." My mom repeated me. "Oh sweetie, you're blushing," and my mom laughed. My dad joined her.
I looked at myself in the reflection of my spoon. This is embarassing! I haven't even noticed this.
"Here's the invitation, honey," My dad handed me a house cut out envelope.
I opened the invitation and read through it. I smiled at the last name I have read.
Michael Vincent Ross.
