Hermione POV

While Fred and George carried Ronald to the hut, Y/n, Harry, and I walked behind them talking about what had just happened.

'No one asked for your opinions, you filthy little Mudbloods.'

From everyone else's reactions, I could tell that Mudblood was an offensive term even if I didn't know exactly what it meant.

"Do you think Ron will be okay?" Harry asked, interrupting my thoughts.

I sighed. "He should be fine in the long run, but I don't think we can do anything except wait it out."

The boy nodded, looking relived. I swear, I could tell him that the moon was made of broccoli, and he'd believe me if I had enough "evidence".

When Hagrid saw Ron's problem, he wasn't as grossed out as I would have thought.

He just chuckled as Harry explained the situations with Fred and George adding unnecessary details. When they finished, Hagrid nodded and went on about Professor Lockhart banging at his door all week.

"He kept bargin' in givin' me advice on gettin' kelpies out of a well and bangin' on about some banshee he banished. If one word of it was true, I'll eat my kettle."

That was unfair. Professor Lockhart had to be a genius for Professor Dumbledore to hire him. I said as much, my voice higher than usual.

"I don't know, 'Mione. There's just something about him that screams I EXAGERATE AND MAKE UP EVERYTHING," Fred said. I sighed but didn't feel like arguing.

Instead, I focused on Y/n, rolling my eyes as she lectured Fred about how 'Mione was her nickname for me, and that only she was allowed to use it. Typical.

Y/n POV

I poked Fred in the forehead, making my point before turning to Hagrid who asked who Ron was trying to curse.

Harry was the first to speak up, telling the giant man about Malfoy and that word, Mudblood.

"He didn'!" Hagrid growled, looking at me and 'Mione.

"He did," I confirmed. "'Mione and I don't exactly know what it means, but it was obviously much worse than calling someone a three-headed camel with moldy toenails and- what?"

My best friend shook her head sighing, while the twins seemed impressed, and the others terrified.

"Uh, well, it's about the most insulting thing he could think of," Ron said. "Mudblood's a really foul name for someone who's Muggle-born – you know, non-magic parents."

"Yeah, there are some wizards,"

"Like the Malfoy's who think,"

"That they're better than everyone else because they're"

"What we call pure-blood," George and Fred continued as another slug came out of their brother's mouth.

"Exactly," Ron added after recovering. "I mean, for the rest of us it really doesn't make a difference at all. Look at Neville Longbottom – he's a pure-blood and he can hardly hold his wand properly."

Well, that was rude to bring Neville into this, but I could see that Ron had good intentions.

The rest of the conversation was mostly about how stupid this pure/half/mud blood thing was, how smart Hermione and I are, and about that stupid Professor Lockhart.

I seriously didn't get why Hermione was always so quick to defend that bloke, but she would always change the subject.

Well, anyway, after Hagrid showed us his giant pumpkins, 'Mione dragged me to lunch, the twins not far behind.

"I'll see you guys later!" I shouted before running off to see my friends at the Hufflepuff table. I sat at my usual spot right between Arianna and Hannah and right across from Ernie.

"Wow Y/n, nice of you to finally join us," Megan teased.

You rolled your eyes at your friend. "I know right? Breakfast was sooooo long ago."

You both laughed and discussed plans for tomorrow with your friends.

"So, if I have this right, me, Y/n, Susan, Meg, Ari, Ernie, and Justin are hanging out and doing whatever until 5 pm where Cedric will help us study?" Hannah recapped in her quiet voice.

Susan nodded.

The next day, you and your friends hang out in the courtyard until it was time to meet Cedric. On the walk to the common room, you noticed that Ernie wouldn't leave Susan's side, and the normally stubborn girl wasn't telling him to leave.

You smiled to yourself and turned to Megan and Ari, the former smirking and the latter nodding her head.

A/N

Hellooooo.

I know that this chapter is (probably) shorter than the others, and I don't really know why.

Anyways, at the time I'm uploading this, this story got 69 views!

And no, I'm not just saying this because 69 blah blah blah (if you don't know, don't find out). I'm saying this because it's way more views than I expected, and I wanted to thank everyone who's reading this from the bottom of my heart.

Seriously, every time I get an update saying that someone commented or voted on the fic, it helps me keep writing without just saying "Oh, btw we are now in the future and you died. The end" (Not saying that I'm killing the reader. I just finished a Xiao fic where we got Thailia'd and still haven't fully recovered.)

Anyway, enough with the sappy stuff. I need primogems. And an actual meme for this chapter.
