24. trust

"What the hell is this?" Zack, Ricky's manager showed him a photo of him and Nina. 

Richard arrived in Los Angeles yesterday, he didn't even have time to unpack because he had to go to the office as soon as possible. Now he was sitting there listening to the manager yell at him for being irresponsible.

"I told you I don't want you to leave the house and what did you do?"

"I left the house."

"You left the house!" Zack shouted ignoring the boy said something. "And why? Seriously, I want to hear your excuse." 

Ricky took a deep breath. "Because I have friends there and I wanted to hang out with them." 

"Friends? Friends?!! Friends will not help you get fame and billions of dollars! I help you with that, but you have to listen to me." the man told him.

"Okay but what if sometimes I want to have fun?" Ricky asked.  

"You mainly want to be successful and therefore you have to work hard and do everything I tell you!" Zack said. "Friends come and go. You don't need them right now. You can have friends and fun when you are older and famous and rich now is the time to make your dream come true." 

The boy sighed and decided not to argue anymore. "Okay sorry, I should have listened to you."

"You should have listened to me." the manager nodded. "Now we have to make sure that the photo with the girl is forgotten."

"How do you plan to do that?" Richard asked scared a little.

"I'll figure something out, you just stay out of trouble from now on. You understand?" 

The curly haired boy nodded slowly and left the room.

...

"Why do you look so sad?" Seb asked his friend who was washing dishes at work. 

"Do you miss Ricky?" Gina added. 

The brunette nodded. "Yeah, I guess so. He only left yesterday, but it's different already, you know?" 

"What do you mean? What is different?" 

"I texted him in the morning and he still hasn't answered." Nini explained to them. "And I've called him several times and he didn't pick up." 

"Well, I'm sure he'll call you in a moment, he just has a lot of work." 

"I know," she nodded. "I'm just afraid that what happened last time will happen to us again" 

Her friends looked at each other sadly, not knowing what to say. 

Big Red stepped closer to her. "Don't worry, it's different now, you two are a couple, you love each other, you can handle everything together."

Nina smiled at her cousin. "Thank you. But we haven't said the L word yet." 

"When was the last time you called him?" Gina asked. 

"About half an hour ago." she answered her. 

"So try calling him now." the curly haired girl told her. "Maybe he just didn't notice that you called him." 

Nini hesitated for a moment, but finally made up her mind and took her mobile phone.

She didn't expect to hear the boy's voice but she really hoped for it and after a few seconds she heard it. "Hey."

"Oh, um hey Ricky, it's so good to hear your voice again, I miss you so-" 

"Uh, listen Nini," he interrupted her. "I'm so sorry, but I have to go prepare for today's interview, okay? I'll call you later, I miss you." after this sentence the call ended. It made the girl a little sad but she tried to remind herself that it was only for a week. 

"At least he picked up," Seb tried to smile. "right?"

"Yeah." the girl nodded with a small smile. "I have to go home now but we'll meet at my place in an hour and watch Ricky's interview live?" Everyone agreed and so the brunette left the restaurant and started walking towards her house. 

"Stop." suddenly she heard a girl's voice, so she stopped and looked for the person who told her. But when she found that person she was not so excited. 

"What are you doing here Lily? Aren't you supposed to be in California?"

"I'm leaving today because I had an interview here."

"And what do you want from me?" 

"I want you to understand the situation with Richard." the blonde answered her. 

Nina smiled. "I think I understand the situation well. Me and Ricky are dating, that's quite understandable."

"This is only for a short time. I know it." Lily laughed. "His manager will never let him date someone like you." 

"Excuse me?" 

"You heard me." she said. "Zack wants Richard to be with someone on his level. Someone famous to bring him more fans and money. Someone like me. What can you give him? Free coffee? He doesn't need that. People like me and him can buy your restaurant if we wanted to. And Zack will never let him be with someone like you." 

"Well it's Ricky's life." Nini shrugged. "And he cannot forbid him to date someone." 

The blonde girl laughed again. "I can see that you know nothing about his life. He will do whatever the manager tells him to do because he wants to be successful and famous. He already deleted you from his life once, why do you think he won't do it again?"

The brunette shook her head. "Ricky will fight for us." 

"Okay, if you believe that, then call him, if he picks up, I'll leave you two alone forever, I swear." she told her. 

Nina got nervous but wanted to show her that she was wrong, so she called her boyfriend. The girl was waiting for an answer and was nervously looking at the mobile phone and at the smiling Lily. She was smiling because she was right and Richard didn't pick up. 

"That doesn't mean anything," Nini said. "he just has a lot of work." 

"Yeah, you can think that, but didn't he promise you that he will pick up the phone no matter what?" Lily asked and the brunette looked down at her feet in disappointment and that was her answer. "Ricky has no time for a girlfriend. And what do you do when his manager wants him to have a fake girlfriend for publicity? Because it has already happened and it will happen again. I have no right to advise you, but I am telling you not to trust him so much. Don't be naive." 

"Funny, that's exactly what he said about you." Nina told her angrily. "He said not to trust you."

"Well, it's up to you to decide." Lily smiled sweetly. "I just wanted to help you. I don't want you to get hurt... I have to go to the airport now, see you... sometime." she said and hugged her, but Nini didn't hug her back. 

The blonde girl got into the limousine and left her alone to think. But Nina didn't want to think about such things because she trusted Ricky. But she couldn't help it after everything that happened today, she was a little worried, but she believed that everything would be fine.
   
    
   
      
   
I haven't updated in a while because this was my birthday week and I didn't have much time, but I'm back.

School starts here tomorrow so please pray for me. I hope I will have time to write.
