Chapter I: Do I Know you from Somewhere?

(The Magenta Mermaid: Thomas POV)

Another annoying day. Ugh, I hate being an important merman. The cause of my waking up was my mother tapping my arm gently. "Alright alright, I'm up!" I groan whilst sitting up to face my mother. I can't be angry at her, she's too lovely. I swat away the fish that are playing in my hair and get up to prepare. Prepare for what you ask? I'm preparing to face my father, that's what. It's not as if he's a bad man or anything, I love him the same as my mother. But. My father is quite obsessed with following the laws of our ancestor clans, also meaning that he wants me to marry a rich mermaid and unite 2 successful clans. As the son of the leader, I'm not surprised, but I still hate the idea of it. It's been 200 years. I want to meet that angel again. Lord, why do I even remember him? I swim towards my dresser and slip on my golden-wing necklace before fixing my hair. Angel, whoever you are, I will find you soon. Just you wait.

..I believe you will Thomas Jefferson. It won't be long at all....

WHAT WAS THAT. The phrase repeated multiple times in my head. what was that supposed to mean? And why did the voice sound so familiar? It almost sounds like...wait a moment. "Angel?" I whisper, as if I would get an answer, yeah right! But a water lily hits my face as I'm laughing at myself. Huh? Lilies don't belong underwater. I analyze it and as I'm about to place it on my dresser I notice something one would deem unnoticeable. The leaves are shaped like wings, just like the one on my necklace. I smile to myself knowing that i have somebody waiting for me.

Oh. Right. I swim out of my room towards the great hall where my father usually spent most of his day giving speeches and having meetings. I see him up ahead and i pause beside him. "Thomas!" He beams at me and pulls me into a hug, i pause for a moment feeling uncomfortable with the action, but return it out of guilt.
"Good morning son. Today we have things to do! I've already ordered all decorations for your wedding!" He comtinued smiling "Fath-" "Thomas, I have everything ready, except a bride!" "Fa-" "Considering the fact that you havent found a bride within the time limit we gave you, I have selected 5 mermaids from whom you will choose from later on." "FATHER!?" He looks at me in shock. "S-sorry father, I don't mean to dissapoint you but i refuse to get married." The shock on my father's face soon fades into anger. "YOU WILL GET MARRIED THOMAS JEFFERSON. THAT'S AN ORDER FROM YOUR LEADER." ...
Leader? He's commanding me to get married as my leader rather than my father? Wow. He doesn't even care how i feel. I don't want to be here in this kingdom. All that matters is that I'm the leader's son and i need to marry rich in order to 'uNiTE ThE COLonIeS'. Bullshit.

I start swimming, unaware of where my tail is taking me, but i let it lead the way. The next thing i know, my head is bobbing up out of the water, eyes searching for land. That's when i see the island where i met him. I speed towards it, the same pace as the first time I ended up there. Right, that was a bad idea, because just like last time. *BANG* Straight into the rocks again. I groan and rub my head. It was exactly like the first time i came here.

A/N: I've enjoyed writing this chapter, whether this is good or not or if people read it or not does not matter, It's fun and I'll continue...after I've slept because its 01:29 AM
