Chapter II: I've Been Waiting

  (The Devastated "Descrotum": Alexander Pov)

   "I hope Thomas understood the lily as a sign to come up here."i mumble to myself. I'm sitting on the branch of a tree whilst looking out at the vast ocean. A tiny bluebird perched itself on my shoulder and I chuckle as i stroke it's feathers. "John. How are you mon petit ami?" I know what's about to happen and start laughing in advance. One second later, the bird was gone, replaced with a freckled man with puffy hair and wings similar to the angel he sat beside. "Alexxxx, I told you not to call me that." He let out a groan and rolled his eyes. John looks me up and down, then squints his eyes. "What are you doing all the way down here? You're hours away from cloud nine!" He's clearly suspicious of me, I don't blame him.
     The cloud nine that John had referred to is our home-country. It's a massive cloud island thousands of feet into the sky, but I hate the place, purely because my beloved merman is never up there with me.
  "Don't worry about why I'm down here. You should go back home." I respond to my friend's question. His eyes squinted even more (if that's possible at this point). "Your father sent me to look for you. Commander Washington is worried, afterall, you've been gone for 2 days already." He shot back. I smile slightly at the fact that da- i mean, Washington is worried about me. Then I shake my head. "I appreciate the concern but you need to go home, before I make you."
    "Bu-"
   "Go home Laurens!"
  John sighs at the use of his surname and dissapears with the click of his fingers.

I look around expectantly. There. I see his head come out of the water. Oh how I've longed for my beloved. I get that we were only kids when we met but now we can be with eachother and do whatever we want with eachother...Get your mind out the gutter Alexander!
And I see that it's just like the day we met. He's speeding towards the island and.

  BANG

I fly towards him, landing gracefully on my knees beside his head. I touch his forehead, making all the pain that he feels dissappear, that's when his eyes flutter open.
  Looking up at me, he smiles softly. Is it me or did it just get hot in here? Heh. I pick him up bridal style just like before, and I don't think I'm mistaken when I see his cheeks flush pink. "Angel.." He whispers to me. Then his eyes widen in realisation. I know what's about to happen, and to avoid getting punched in the face, I sling him over my shoulder. "Heyyy, stop punching my back" I whine dramatically, although it has no effect on him. Whilst he poorly continues to 'hurt' me, he shouts. "Why did you leave! I didn't even know your goddamn name yet you act like we're bloody lovers! I WAITED FOR YOU, I'VE WAITED FOR SOMEONE WHO'S NAME I DON'T EVEN KNOW!!" I think he started crying as he stopped punching me, but gripped the back of my shirt tightly. I click my tongue and rub his back with my free hand. "Thomas, you do realise that in human years we were 6 and 8 right? Well we're uhm...18 and 20 now I'm pretty sure. So calm down. We can run away together now. Start lives as humans! It's not like our clans would accept this anyway." I say with a slight whisper, as if talking too loud would make the merman cry even more. I once again princess carry him, looking down at him avoiding my gaze. "I like that idea." He mumbled, still refusing the meet my gaze. I look him up and down, noticing something glistening on his neck.
  "So you kept the necklace huh?" I chuckle slightly and he frowns. "Hey if you're so angry at me then use the damn thing so I can stop holding you." This makes him stop frowning, but he looks me straight in the eye and wraps his arms and tail around me, digging his face into my chest. "I see." I giggle at him. I feel his face turn hot on my shirt and I smile. I finally get what I wanted after waiting 200 years.
