A'ja Araujo's life is... complícated.

Growing up as a child in Uruguay, she wasn't sure what to make of herself. Her brother and best friend (only friend) Ronald was on a star-studded path to football success, but A'ja wasn't keen on following her path. Being brought up by a humble family, they taught her to work for the thing that fulfills her passion, so little A'ja, aged 7 found her passion on rust-coated monkey bars of a worn down park. Gymnastics were her passion, the adrenaline rush of landing a somersault or hanging upside down from whatever she found as a curious girl was enough to get her hooked.
