Marissa walked inside the party in her wine red dress and her leather jacket as she walked up to the counter seeing Agent Hill with Thor, James, and Tony. "Yeah, they...they must be busy because they'd hate missing you guys get together. Testosterone! Oh, excuse me." Maria stated as she fake coughed looking at them
"Want a lozenge?" James offered.
"Um-hmm." Maria answered.
"Let's go." James said as he and Maria walked off.
"But Jane's better." Thor said as Marissa got behind the counter getting a drink. She looked over at Sam and Steve who is talking about the fight and sent a small wave to them. She watched as Steve and Thor walked over to them talking to an elderly man at the party as Thor poured something into a glass.
"I gotta have some of that!" the guest said looking at it.
"Oh, no, no, no. See this, this was aged for a thousand years, in the barrels built from the wreck of Grunhel's fleet, it was not meant for mortal men." Thor told them as he handed one to Steve.
"Neither was Omaha Beach, blondie. Stop trying to scare us. Come on." The man told them.
"Alright." Thor said as he poured some of the drink into Stan Lee's glass; later Stan, looking extremely drunk is being carried off by two men. She looked over at Nat and Banner listening to them talk as she poured a drink her hand.
"How'd a nice girl like you wind up working in a dump like this?" Banner asked.
"Fella done me wrong." She answered him.
"You got a lousy taste in men, kid." He told her.
"He's not so bad. Well, he has a temper. Deep down he's all fluff. Fact is, he's not like anybody I've ever known. All my friends are fighters. And here comes this guy, spends his life avoiding the fight because he knows he'll win." She explained.
"Sounds amazing." He stated.
"He's also a huge dork. Chicks dig that. So what do you think should I fight this, or run with it?" She asked him.
"Run with it, right? Or, did he... Was he...? What did he do that was so wrong to you?" He asked her. Marissa and Steve looked at each other as she whispered in his ear.
"Reminds me of that car ride that day in 1943." Marissa whispered in his ear causing him to look at her with a smile and kissed her lips.
"Ahh shh you." He whispered back as he looked at her releasing.
"Not a damn thing. But never say never." Nat told Bruce as she walked away, and Steve approached him with Marissa.
"It's nice." Steve complimented.
"What, what, what is?" Bruce asked nervous.
"You and Romanoff." Steve told him.
"No, we haven't. That wasn't..." Bruce tried to talk nervous.
"It's okay. Nobody's breaking any by-laws. It's just, she's not the most... open person in the world. But with you she seems very relaxed." Marissa told him.
"No, Natasha, she... she likes to flirt." He said looking at then.
"I've seen her flirt, up close. This ain't that. Look, as maybe the world's leading authority on "waiting too long;" don't. You both deserve a win." Steve told him as he took Marissa's hand and walked off.
"Wait, what do you mean, "up close"?" He asked as he followed them.
Later, most of the guests has left and it was just the Avengers plus Dr. Cho and Maria Hill sitting around Thor's hammer which was sitting on the table between them. "But, it's a trick!" Clint stated spinning a drumstick.
