~6 months later~

Those 6 months went by pretty fast. It was now June and you guys were out of school. You and Vance are happier than ever. There were no more nightmares. Within those 6 months, you did recover from everything that happened. It also seemed like your younger siblings did as well. They seemed happier and so did you. Vance and the others would point it out a lot. But, everything was fine until you remembered that your dad was coming back. That day was today. So, you, Finn and Gwen had to get dressed up again and go back to the court where you would see your dad again.

~At the court house~

You guys patiently waited for the judge. When she finally came in, that's when things started. You started to get nervous. For some reason, you just had a gut feeling to be nervous. 'Has your dad changed his ways?' 'Will things be the same when he comes back?' These questions were just running through your head the entire time.

"Ms. Blake! Are you listening?"

"Huh? Oh, sorry. No your honor. I zoned out."

"I need you to pay attention please."

You nodded.

"Six months ago, we went through the Blake case giving their dad those six months. Within that time, he had thought about his actions. Or at least he should have. But, now we are back again today to settle the case. Your father is now being sent back to you guys. Bring him in!"

Two officers came through the double doors with your dad. He looked over to see you three. When you saw him, he didn't look different. He looked the same. All you could see him as was a drunkie who was also a child abuser. The officers let him go and he instantly ran to you guys bringing you all in a group hug.

'This is probably just an act.'

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

He kept pleading those same words over and over again. But, it was hard to believe since he always had empty promises. You could even see it on Finn and Gwen's faces that they didn't believe him either.

"Now, Mr. Blake, you only have one more chance to make things right. If you decide to not change your ways, this means your children will be put in our custody and given to the families that they have been staying with for these past months. But, if you manage to stay away from the drinking and abuse of your children, the opposite will happen. Do you understand?"

"Yes your honor."

"Case dismissed."

Then, that was it. Time to go home and see if he did actually change. You were starting to feel sick to your stomach just thinking about it. You could even see that your younger siblings seemed off about it as well. You all made it outside. You ran to Vance's side. Not for comfort. But, for something else.

"Hey, you were right. Those six months did help out a lot."

"I told you that you'd thank me for it."

You smiled.

"Shut up."

"I'm good."

You then kissed him to shut him up.

"You little shit."

You then had a laugh. You couldn't hold it in anymore. You then gave his parents a hug.

"Thank you for taking care of me."

"Anytime sweetie."

You then gave Vance a hug and a kiss on the cheek. You then returned back to your family. The officers had brought your dads car to the court house so you guys could get home. That's what you did. You guys got in the car and left. The entire ride was silent.
