I took a seat in the office, listening to the sound of the ringing phones, no wait, that was my ears. My head spun. Then, Michael walked in and put a hand on my shoulder and asked me if I was okay. I told him no. Mrs. Gretzky lived up to her word and signed us out. We walked out to the car . . . well, Michael walked out to the car, he basically had to carry me. He started up the car and drove the few blocks to my house. I thanked him and he gave me a hug and kissed me on the forehead. I got out and walked to the door, and pulled out my key. I missed the lock a few times because my hands were shaking so bad. I walked in, set my stuff down, and walked to my mother's bedroom door, which was shut. "Mom, are you there? I wasn't feeling good, so Michael dropped me off. I tried calling you, but you didn't answer. Are you okay?"

No response.

I turned the knob and stepped into her room. She wasn't in there. I went to her bathroom door and tried to turn the knob, but it was locked. "Hey mom, are you okay?"

No response.

"Mom!"

No response.

"MOM!"
