Chapter 33

Athena POV

It is getting cold as each day passes.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow but thankfully the weather man said it was going to be nice.
It has been three days since Eli came in the house. Shawn said he didn't know she was coming, so he didn't have the heart to say no to her staying a while.
He told me she has a tumor in her brain and Francisco will go with her to the hospital soon to get treatment.
I go to the kitchen to say hi to Bonnie. I see Eli with Bonnie giggling near the stove. I smell cheese.
"Hi," I say. They turn and Bonnie smiles. "Hi madam, how are you this afternoon?"
"I'm well, so what are you cooking?"
"Macaroni and cheese for Shawn," Eli smiles, "he used to love back in college."
"I'm helping her, but do you need help?" Bonnie asks.
"It's okay," I say. I walk out and go to my room. I feel uneasy about Eli cooking for my husband. I need to talk to Shawn about her. Since how long do they know each other?
I arrive to the room and settle in bed for a quick nap. Hopefully, Shawn comes soon. I really need to know more about Eli and him.

I open my eyes and see the sun light hitting the window. I check my phone and it is barely 2. I stretch and rub my stomach. "Glad you let mommy rest," I say. I stand and go to the living room. Shawn must be getting back now.
"He was such a nice friend," I hear Eli talking to someone as I walk in the living room.
I take a peek and see it is Judith and Gabriel. "Oh so where you going out?" Judith asks.
Gabriel immediately says no. "Shawn never asked her out."
Eli shyly nods. "We were just friends like now."
"But you dated?"
"Well we only went out twice, but nothing serious," Eli answers.
I just walk forward. "Hey!"
They and all look at me. Judith stands and hugs me. "Oh hi, how is my pregnant friend doing?"
I smile. "Good and I see you are very pregnant yourself."
"She won't stop eating french fries," Gabriel jokes.
We sit. Unfortunately, I need to sit next to Eli. "How far along are you Athena?" She asks.
"I'm going for 4 months," I say.
"Wow, Shawn is so happy isn't he?"
"Yeah very very happy Eli," I smile.
Gabriel coughs, "So we are here because Shawn said he wanted us to organize for tomorrow since it is Thanksgiving day."
I nod. "Yeah, we want to celebrate it with you guys too."
Judith smiles, "Well my family won't be able to make it, I agree to come over. I can make a special Japanese desert."
I smile, "Yeah, that will be great."
We continue to talk about tomorrow. Hopefully my parents can make it.
Shawn arrives soon after and we chat about babies.
I notice how Eli looks at Shawn. She has so much gratefulness and admiration for him.
I understand Shawn is helping her with her sickness, but there is something else. Especially knowing that they dated before.
Soon, Gabriel and Judith leave. I take Shawn by the hand to his office.
"That was nice," he says.
I nod and sit on the desk. "So, did you date Eli before?"
He is taken back and nervously chuckles. "What?"
"I heard Eli talking to Gabriel and Judith over you guys dating," I say, "is that true?"
I'm not upset but I am curious. Shawn has only told me about his recent ex girlfriend but no other girls he dated.
He gets closer to me and is smirking so wide. He thinks I'm jealous. "Yeah, I took her out a couple of times, but nothing serious or long."
So they aren't lying, she said the same thing. "Okay," I smile.
Shawn puts his hands on my hips and looks down at me. "Is my wife jealous or worried?"
I smile, "Nope."
Shawn kisses my forehead. "Don't treat Eli badly. She is a good person."
I roll my eyes, "Fine."
We chuckle and kiss for a second. "How is the baby doing?" He asks.
I shrug, "I can't ask it, but I think the baby is fine."
Shawn places his hands on my stomach. "I love you and this baby."
"And we love you back, now go tell Franky to make me brownies."

NEXT DAY

I am so exhausted! I decided to help Bonnie and Franky out with the food preparation. It is already 2pm and I haven't gotten ready!
I quickly walk to my room and shower again.
Once I'm finished, I wrap a towel around me and go to my closet. What should I wear?
I suddenly hear footsteps coming to the closet. I smirk, "It is Shawn," I think.
I drop the towel and turn to catch the door opening and a knock is heard.
"Come in," I smile.
Then, I am paralyzed.
Henry just stares and freezes in place. His eyes are wide and his cheeks are pink.
Oh god. Oh god!!!
"Hi?" He breaks the silence.
Oh snap, oh god, what? I quickly recover and get the towel. "What the hell?" I ask. "Turn around!"
"Sorry!" He exclaims as he turns around. "You said to come in!"
"But I'm naked!"
"I didn't know you were you!"
"Huh?"
I push him out. "Stay there."
I quickly get dressed in jeans and a black shirt. I step out of the closet and look at Henry siting on the bed looking down with his eyes close.
I sit next to him. This is so weird and awkward.
"I'm sorry Athena, I swear I didn't know you were undressed. I will never disrespect you that way," Henry whispers. He sounds embarrassed and shy.
"It-is-fine," I say each word slowly.
I am staring at the wall. This is too weird even if I feel comfortable with Henry. This crosses the line.
But it wasn't his intention after all, I said come in without thinking it could have been someone else than Shawn.
"Um, I wanted to hang out with you and the rest since my family couldn't make it for dinner, I know I'm not on the guest list, but I don't want to be alone," Henry breaks the silence.
We look at each other. He is blushing immensely. He isn't making eye contact with me though.
"S-sure," I say.
"Thanks," Henry stands, "well, I let you finish getting ready. I'll be downstairs then."
I nod. He exits the room. Oh man, what the hell happened?
I put my face on my hands. He saw me naked, full on pregnant naked.
I groan in frustration and sigh. I check the time, thankfully I still have time to get decent.
I change to a flowy white dress with sleeves till my elbows. I pick the top half of my hair and do lazy curls on the bottom. I pair the dress with white low heels and put red lipstick on.
I notice my wedding rings are not on my dresser. What the hell did I put them? Wait, I left them here before I began helping prepare the food.
I ask Bonnie if she has seen them. I go downstairs and see Eli talking to Henry in the living room. She has a orange cocktail dress with only one sleeve. Her hair is in natural curls and has light make up. She looks great.
