Shawn has his hands on my eyes as we are walking. "What are you going to show me?" I chuckle. I almost trip on a rock.
"I am showing you the surprise," he says. "Okay, stop." We stop walking and he counts to three and lets me see.
"It is a small thing, but I wanted our future kids to know who their big sister was," he whispers as he gets my hand. I see a beautiful statue of an angel. "Henry did this, he is an artist, but it was my idea. The angel is our baby looking after us and this. I don't know if this is go-"
I kiss him lightly. "Thanks, it is beautiful."
He cups my face, "Henry thought it was good so I went ahead and did it. It's something I want our kids to admire and take care. They will need to polish the statue-"
I cut him off again. I cup his face. "It's a nice gesture, and I get the artistic view. I really like it and appreciate it Shawn."
I hug him tight, "Thanks for not forgetting about her."
"I won't never do that," he says.
We stay there for a while admiring the statue. It has a gold tag on it with our baby's possible birthday.
We go back inside the house and I see Henry standing in the living room looking around the modern house. I notice he has light brown hair and he has a pearl skin color.
"Hey," Shawn says. Henry looks at us and smiles. "Did you all like it?"
I smile, "Yes, thank you very much. The statue is great; you have talent Henry."
He lightly blushes, "Thanks."
"Let's go to the dinner room. I invited Henry for a light meal," Shawn says to me.
I nod in agreement. We walk into the dinning room and Bonnie serves us a grilled chicken salad with a choice of dressing.
We talk about the statue and about his work. He graduated early from high school and college as well. He went to a university in California to get his degree in Arts and Marketing, he is a double major! Wow!
"So have you recently moved?" I ask him.
He nods, as he looks at me, I notice he has bright green eyes. He is super cute, but Shawn is my #1 hottest. But for some reason, I feel hot in my cheeks. I quickly look down at my glass of water. "I am from California but moved here because of the demand for architects for creating homes like this, a lot of wealthy people live here."
"I agree," I say. "but I thought you were an artist?"
"I am, but since my father was an architect and part time engineer, I learned a lot from him and art isn't simply drawing you know?" he says.
"If you are good with creating things from marble, then why not build a house out of glass and metal?" Shawn asks Henry.
"Yeah," I say. I look at Henry again and he smiles at me. "I am glad I made you happy Athena."
"Well," Shawn suddenly stands, "thanks Henry. If I have another job or know a friend, I will call you."
Henry and I stand as well. They shake hands as professionals do. "Thanks Shawn. Well I had a good meal and company, so I will be heading out. Nice to meet you all again."
"Let me walk you," I say. As I am walking, Shawn grabs my arm. He looks serious. "No. Let Bonnie do it," he whispers. "Bonnie walk Henry to the door please."
Bonnie comes running from the kitchen and catches up with Henry. What the? I get my arm back and look at him. "Are you serious?" I ask.
"What?" he asks back.
