Katie POV
(At Alexa's house)
"So, how did you know?" Katie asks Lori
"Well, I've seen the way you look at her..." Lori chuckles with a smile
Katie looks down at hers shoes awkwardly and blushes,
"Huh, so I'm really that obvious." Katie smiles as well
"I mean..."
Lori and Katie both chuckle together.
I don't know how to feel to be honest. Happy someone knows finally or scared her mother knows and probably told my mom.!
"Can I ask something Lori?" Katie says
Mothers do know their children the best. Maybe I could ask Lori.
"Do you ever think Alexa has liked me?"
This time when I said it, I didn't regret doing it. I wante- needed to know.
"Well, I'm not sure..."
Katie cut off Lori "please. Be honest "
"Well... no She hasn't done anything that signifies that but... now that you guys are older, something can happen..."
Lori smiles at me. I can see the Pity she has for me in her eyes...
"That's ok."
My heart started to ache. If Alexa's mom thinks we can't be together then there's definitely no chance for us.
Katie walks into her (mom's) house.
I sat on the sofa and got out my phone. I had to let Alexa know I missed her and wanted her here but I didn't want to seem like a needy baby or whatever.
I wrote a draft message saying: Sad you couldn't be here :( i guess I'll see you tmrw then 😁
I was cringing inside. Ok. Sent.

DING DONG.
I run to the door to see my mom.
"Oh my god, Katie.." Jennifer (her mum) is surprised but happy "uh, how did you get in here?" Jennifer nervously chuckles and hugs Katie.
"Umm the door." Katie replies
"Huh, I should really lock the door when I go out.." Jennifer laughs and they both sit down.
"Where's Jack?" Katie says
"Oh, he's in the car."
Katie looks confused. "Mom, he's in the car." Katie says frantically,
"And?"
"Oh!" Jennifer looks scared
"HE'S IN THE CAR!"
Jennifer runs to the front of the house and unlocks the car.
"Sorry Jack."
"This means your buying me Zombiegeddon 4..."
Jennifer sighs " fair"
They both walk into the house where Katie is.
I couldn't believe it when Jack came in - he looked so tall!
I ran to hug him.
"Who are you?" Jack says
"I don't look that different do I?" Katie chuckles,
Jennifer doesn't look as happy.
"Katie, can I talk to you?" She says to her
"Oh, um sure."
My mom brought me to my room.
