I was sitting at the booth trying to focus on my math work when all I could think about was how I of all people ended up in this predicament. I stared at the math problem longer then I should have not even focused on what was in front of me.
"Having trouble with that problem?" I hear Ethan say from in front of me
I look up at him "No, I'm okay my minds just wandering a bit" I looked back down at the unfinished problems trying to focus
"Here let me help you then since your mind is wandering" Ethan stood up from where he was sitting and came to my side of the booth
He sat right next to me, when I took a deep breath I could smell the scent of his cologne; it was a mixture between pinewood and fresh linens. It smelled amazing. He reached out, taking my hand in his, holding them together like he was praying.
"What are you doing?" I slightly laughed
"Getting you to focus all your energy on another area of your body so you're not distracted by your thoughts" He was intently staring at our hands
It made me giggle "Seriously?"
He looked up at me from our hands with a serious look on his face "Very serious"
I giggled again and just let him do what he needed to do then Belinda came over with our slices of cake. She looked at Ethan then looked at me and shook her head with a grin on her face. She set the cake down on the table walking away with the smile still on her face. Ethan eventually released my hands and looked back at me
"Are you focused now?" He asked staring at me with those gorgeous eyes
"I think so" I said staring back at him
I don't know what was more warm, my hands from where he was holding them or my face from him staring at me like that. I broke the eye contact and looked back down at my paper
"So I might need help with this after all" I said quietly
I heard him chuckle beside me and started guiding me through the problems I had left on my paper. We both finished with our work just in time to chow down on the cake that Belinda had left us. I was eating a piece of cake when I remembered that there was a frat party tonight. I looked at Ethan and he was eating his cake like it was going to disappear, he is definitely goofier then Caleb which is saying a lot. He looked up from his plate and I forgot I was staring
"Do I have something on my face?" He asked wiping his face with the napkin next to him
"No, I was going to ask you if you were going to the frat party tonight" lightly laughing at him
"I have no choice, I'm apart of the fraternity" he didn't looked to pleased about being in it though
"You didn't want to join it?"
"No, but it makes my dad happy," he said looking to the otherside of the parlor. Both him and Caleb strive to make him happy which shows how great a person he is. He looked back at me with a puzzled look "Are you going?"
"I was thinking about it, but I don't know"
"Well if you do then just come find me and we can be miserable together" He chuckled
I laughed too "I'll text you and let you know" I looked at my phone and it was already almost 6 o'clock "I should get back to my dorm room and relax"
He nodded his head agreeing, so we packed up all our stuff getting ready to go when Mr. Cedric was standing next to the table. I didn't know how big and broad of a man he was until I saw him standing there. Ethan and I stood up
