*Trigger Warning*
"So officer, how are you going to help us? The other officer made this situation sound like this isn't a big deal." (F/n) asked, using his fingers to indicate quote on quote.
He rolled his eyes right before the waiter came to the table. She placed their coffees on the table and gave them a warm smile.
"Enjoy." She said before she walked off.
"Anyway, I assure you Mr. (L/n), we will get your daughter back. The majority of the law enforcement is bribed by the Willam's family. But there are a few of us who stick by the law, me and a select few stick together and take on cases like these under the radar. I understand your frustration, and I assure you, you will get your daughter back."
"Won't you guys get into trouble?" (M/n) asked.
"If we don't gather evidence, then yes. I believe we can gather enough evidence."
"Do what you have to, as long as we get our daughter back."
"Of course Mr. (L/n), we'll do our best." He huffed.
After conversing with officer David, they headed back to the station to where their car was. The pair entered the car and paused. They were both stressed out of their minds for their oldest. As (F/n) started the car, and got onto the road he glanced towards the woman who was currently looking out the window.
"You know, I've been sober for two years."
"I'm happy for you (F/n)."
Awkward silence filled the vehicle. The older male gripped the steering wheel tightly, wanting to ask the question he's been wanting to for two years.
"C-can I come back? When this is all over, can I be a part of the girl's life again?"
(M/n) turned to him with a shocked expression.
"Woah, seriously?" She asked.
"Yes I'm serious I miss them and regret what I've put you three through, especially (Y/n)."
(M/n) sighed.
"That'll be up to the girls (F/n). I'm not sure (Y/n) has forgiven you for everything. I'm not sure if she will."
"(Y/n)! Come here!"
Running to the living room, the twelve year old approached the male who was sitting in a chair lazily watching TV. As soon as she walked in, the stench of alcohol filled her senses, coming from the male who sat there doing absolutely nothing.
"Yea dad?" She cautiously asked her father.
"Bring me a beer." He huffed drunkenly.
She walked to the fridge grabbing the last beer, she shook her head in disapproval.
"Dad, this is the last beer." She said opening up the can and handing it to him.
"WHAT?! There should at least be five more in there! Have YOU been drinking all my beer (Y/n) (L/n)?"
'Why would I drink your beer? You've drunk all of them.' she thought
"No sir."
"Whatever. Did you clean the kitchen, bathroom, and fold all the clothes like I asked you?"
"Yea."
"Good." He said and took a long sip of his beer. He looked down to his phone to check the time.
"I'm hungry, go make something for dinner.
(Y/n) sighed. This was a daily routine for the little girl. Doing the chores and making dinner. She still had to study for an exam that was the next day.
"I need to study. I-is it alright if I do that instead of making dinner?" She asked reluctantly.
Her father snapped his head towards the little girl, looking at her as though she had three heads.
"What?"
"Dad, I have an exam tomorrow, I need to study."
"Isn't that why you're supposed to be a school girl? To learn, to study. You know you don't have the time for that. Go make dinner."
"Ok." She said as she walked away tears brimming her eyes.
"You think I'm stupid, huh?!" (F/n) yelled, gripping the little girl's wrist tight.
"N-no! I never said that!" The girl sobbed, wanting to get out of this situation.
"You look at me like I'm fucking dumb!" He lifted up her wrist to position her hand at his head.
"I-I'm sorry dad! I don't mean to!"
"Everything's my fucking fault isn't it?!" He drunkenly laughed.
"N-no, please stop." She cried.
"Go ahead and tell me, fucking tell me!" He drove her wrist away and slammed her hand onto his head. He kept repeating the action, until he heard his phone go off.
Stopping his actions, he turned towards his phone, with her wrist still in his grip. He suddenly let go and gave her a lazy smirk.
"You're mom's going to be home in a few minutes. Try to get everything done before then. Also quit crying, I didn't hurt you." He huffed and walked to his room and slammed the door.
(Y/n) kept crying, looking at her hand, it was swollen and red. She sucked up her tears and got back to the dishes.
She didn't want to be here anymore.
"(Y/n)?"
"(Y/n)?"
"Hey, (Y/n)?" Jayden waved his hand in front of the girl's face.
She flinched from how close he was.
"Ah, sorry I spaced out." She let out a light laugh.
"What were you thinking about?"
"Nothing, it's not important."
He gave her a skeptical look.
"It must be important if you were spaced out like that. Everything okay dear?"
"Yes, again it's nothing important."
He sighed, accepting she wasn't going to voice her thoughts."Anyway! I brought candy and popcorn for the movies."
(Y/n) glanced towards his hands to see two bowls, one was the popcorn and one was her favorite candy.
"Ok, what are we watching?" she asked, trying to hype herself up.
"I was thinking about seeing what's new." He said, as he sat next to her, placing the bowls on the other side of them, wrapping an arm around her shoulders with the remote in the other hand, choosing a movie.
(Y/n) thought back to the flash back she had.
'How long ago was that? Five, maybe six years.'
She glanced towards Jayden, thinking about everything he's done.
He noticed her glance and shot her a warm smile.
She deadpanned and reached over him to grab the bowl of candy, and started to eat it.
'Men give me PTSD.'
A/n: have a fabulous day!! Stay well!
