Prologue

Narrator

Long time ago, in a land known as The Spirit World lives a royal king and queen safeguarded this world. Thanks to them, it has been peaceful. The supernaturals and humans living in peace and harmony for many years. So much that the king and queen eventually bared children. Two sons and a daughter, future guardians of the land. Or so we've thought. As they grew, one of the princes, a prince Seth, had grown hatred for the humans. Having the idea that all humans should be enslave as the supernatural pets. Disputing everything that the family stand for.

Eventually the family had no choice, but to cast him in Exile to The Dark Woods and those who believe this theory. Though he vows to return with an army to overthrow the crown and overrun the land. All was quiet after that. Time flies overhead and no one has heard from the prince since his exile. It just as well, he was pronounced dead by the family a long time ago, considering The Dark Woods is filled with dark creatures. The unexplained kind. Ghouls, Phantoms, and much more. Seeing a prince in their land is a prize welling to take. No one will have survive these woods even if they wanted to.

The family was heartbroken, despite what happened. But even they know that their duties come first no matter the cost. Time came and went. And the royal family knew that is important to keep going with the mission. At least, for the moment, they can relax and let down their guard, considering it was the time of festivities and games. They were having fun. Even Prince Damion and Princess Diana were dancing the night away with other princes and princess. Forgetting all their troubles and their duties. But because they weren't aware that deep within their civilization their enemy has already occupied their world.

That could mean one thing, Seth is alive, and he is amongst them. Worse, he must of join with the dark creatures to led them against his family, eventually. Before they realized it, they were at war with Seth. A war that lasted for a long time. Under his ruling, Seth led his new Blood Knights army as their rage and distraction. Causing a lot of suffering to everyone. Grabbing everything he could. Not to mention, imprisoning those who are weak or aren't useful to society. Mostly keeping them as pets for blood. The royal family tries to do everything they could to save them but couldn't do so at all, considering Seth's army overthrows them. All seemed to be a lost. However, what Seth didn't count on, is that our Goddess, Hecate sent an army of her own against Seth and manages to free those he'd imprisoned. Our Goddess's army were fierce and courageous when attacking Seth, and his army. They even drove them into a temporary retreat. No one has seen him or his army.

With peace restored to our society, Hecate and her army, The Guardians, used their powers to hide our society from the dark creatures by creating an invisible shield. And, in addition, Our Goddess left us a gift before she and her Guardians went back to their world. A gift that says to be the most powerful and the light that would end the war that Seth started. Though time will only tell when and if the stories about the light are true.

For now, in our new society, Phantom City, we live together in harmony. Without worrying anything and letting our guard down. Just, enjoying life in the way nature intended. For insistence, in Phantom City, Supernaturals can gain power, create an army and grab any piece of land where-ever they wish, if they are within the city's range. However, this city has one law, never, ever force a human to change their form. Guide them. Let them devour the taste. Make them want more. Make them want to be part of our world. This same law is the only reason our people can coexist with these humans. Yes, everything is right with the world, or so we've thought.

Just recently though, humans have been going missing. It wouldn't worry us so much, considering it was all part of the progress. However, their names are always register in our system's database and it gets display on the big screen downtown. It also shows what kind of supernatural these humans become and their age. And from what I'm seeing most of these humans are never around and their names are never displayed on screen. To make matter worst, these disappearing humans are ending up dead. Something that my partner and I are trying to figure out, but time is not on our side right now. And all we've been hearing are a lot of theories.

According to one theory, the supernaturals are hiding them. Keeping them against their will until they make up their minds or that it is like before, when the rogues kept them as pets. If that's true, then everything the Guardians and our Goddess worked on for achieving peace. Would be for nothing. And those who remain aren't willing to take another chance. They don't have the resources. I know... And I know because I'm one of them.

The supernaturals however, believe in another theory. One much more sinister, and even got them spooked. It is something we (Oh, when I mean "we," I mean the remaining Guardians) need to keep an eye on, nonetheless.

Another issue we need to keep an eye on is within the city itself. And things got even weirder when an outsider wandered in. He appeared to be Caucasian with pale blue eyes and dark brown hair. His tall body made him look powerful and athletic, covered by a white and neatly tucked T-shirt with blue jean pants. Adding to his elegant stance, this mysterious outsider wore a brown and leathered-style jacket. It didn't make him blend in with the crowd of people as he walked down our streets looking for someone. This special someone was somewhere in our beautiful city, regardless of the dark and gloomy shadow covering it. He was the only one to look up in the sky and saw a couple of rain clouds. The sound of thunder caught his attention.

The indication of rain coming in close and a pause in the search for this person. It didn't matter to him, though. He's here and determined to find a mate, considering in the past, he had one. Though, it didn't work well between them. His old mate rejected him because he didn't treat her like an Alpha but an Omega. There was no bond between them, so it didn't matter. Not to the outsider, anyway. He was free. However, he asked for forgiveness a couple of years after the rejection. The endless and sleepless nights remind him of those days. Making sure that he suffered as his old mate did. Making sure that he realized he was missing something in his life. A mate, his mate, and somewhere in this city, she was calling him.
