"WHAT?!" Shadow yelled and tossed a armor helmet at one of his scouts. "YIKES!" They jump out of the way avoiding the helmet. "We're sorry sir but we searched everywhere and we couldn't even find his scent......" "THEN KEEP LOOKING!!!! EVEN IF YOU VENTURE INTO THE MOUNTAIN CLANS TERRITORY BRING BACK MY MATE!!!!" Shadow ordered loudly. "Ye-yes s-sir" they coward as they leave the room. "I'm assuming by your rage they haven't found my son?" Locke said as he enters. "Yes and he was very defiant towards me" Shadow said. "I promise once they find him I'll be sure to beat him until he agrees to be yours as promised. No son of mine will decline our leader." "Good now go" shadow waves him off and Locke bows before leaving. "Knuckles you weak sorry excuse of a son you will marry the leader. I don't care what he did to you. You will be our lords mate and help him take over the vampire community or so help me you will be in chains for the rest of your pathetic life." Locke thought angrily as he storms outside. The two clan members gulp down their nerves as they entered the forbidden territory. They arrived at the waterfall smelling Knuckles's blood but their jaws drop seeing the flap of skinned off skin with his tattoo. "Oh man.... Locke and lord shadow aren't going to like this......" one of them said and picks up the flap. They place it in a bag and ran back to the clan home. They walk in nervously as Locke stood next to shadow once they were summoned. "Well?!" Shadows eyes glowed. "I think..... he became a rogue......" "why would you think that?" Locke asked sternly. They gave him the bag with the skinned off tattoo. "THAT TRAITOROUS BASTARD!!!" Locke yelled and storms out of the room. "Where was this found?" "In the mountains clans territory" "Leave me...." "But-" "I SAID LEAVE!!!!" The two coward out of the room. "You smart little fledgling~ removing your tattoo disowning us, bathe in water to remove my scent~ and fleeing into the enemy's territory so it would be harder for me to find you~ well played but you will be mine~" Shadow crushes the bag and starts laughing evilly.

Knuckles bolts up from his bed breathing heavy and his heart racing. He looks around the room and sighs in relief. "Oh thank god it was just a nightmare....." he said to himself. Knuckles decided to walk throughout the palace garden since he could go back to sleep. He admires all the flowers and trees that seem to glow beautifully under the full moon. He smiles as he thought of his mother who loved to plant Flowers and pick apples in the fall. He was close to her since his father really never cared for him. "Can't sleep?" A female voice said making Knuckles jump. "Oh my queen um yes..... how did you know?" "Well Sonic has the same face when he can't sleep" she smiled feeding a flytrap. "Oh...." He said. "How is your mother Andrea? I haven't heard from her in years..... ever since the first war" "My mother passed from heartbreak after losing my siblings in that war..... wait you know my mother?" "Yes we were very good friends despite the feud it was actually during a time where we were at peace but Sonic's grandfather and shadows grandfather had came to a disagreement and the feud began again.... She had already given birth to her third son by then and I just gave birth to silver." "I'm guessing it was about control of the vampires?" "Yes... I'm heartbroken to hear about your mother she was a kind hearted woman and it shows through you." "I miss her a lot..... she was the only person that understood me..." "What about your father?" "Honestly my queen my father never cared for me... hell he never even started training me until my mother and siblings passed..... yet everything I've done I was too slow, weak, or wasn't good enough.... When I did pass one of his test he gave me the tattoo but I was forced to put it on my neck.... My queen please I don't want to go back" Knuckles looks up into kind golden eyes tears falling. She hugs the echidna and he immediately felt safe in her motherly hug. "I promise you will never go back to that place I can sense your pain. The only thing I ask is that you keep trusting your heart on doing what's right." "I promise my queen" "good now get some rest sweetie you'll be going through some test my husband has for you to become a member of our clan."
