"What's up?" I asked smiling with my eyes.
"I was doing some thinking and I think," he paused and whatever he needed to say must have been hard because he wouldn't spit it out, "I think I know what's going on."
"Going on with what?" My stomach growled violently, "Can we talk about this after we get food? My stomachs not being patient at the moment." I smiled but he didn't smile back, he just continued into the kitchen.
He made the best tacos I'd ever had in my life, although it was the first time I'd ever had them anyway, he says they used to make these all the time but stopped selling them because of separation rules.
"So," I started taking a bite into the corn shell, "What did you need to tell me?"
He had hardly touched his food, " I think this may have something to do with my brother, he always had this thing for dark magic and levitating doesn't happen on a regular basis." I furrowed my eyebrows.
"I doubt he would do anything like that to me, are you just saying this out of jealousy? Are you trying to make me think he's the bad guy in this or something?" He shook his head.
" I'm genuinely worried about this Rhiannon, it's not a joke." I put down the greasy food and wiped my mouth with a napkin.
"Well then before you go on blaming him, know for sure, I'd only known your brother for a little while and I know he wouldn't do anything like that to me." Logan scoffed and stood up.
"Listen to me babe," did he just call me babe? He just called me babe oh my gosh, "My brother isn't who you think he is at all, he's manipulative and creepy and so many other things you'd never know about, so please just do me a favor and stay away from him." I honestly hardly heard anything he said over my own excitement so I just nodded and he proceeded out of the kitchen.
"Wait I don't know how to get out of here!" I yelled to him but he didn't reply, I know he heard me gosh darn it.
"Do you believe him?"
"Well, I'm not sure what to think," I looked away playing hard to get, "did you see me levitating?"
He moved closer to me and didn't change his blank facial expression one bit, "Rhiannon I'm worried about you."
"Why does everyone say that?"
"I'm serious," he sat on the counter in front of me, his feet dangling under him. "You did something I've never seen before in a mortal." he studied me secretively with his eyes.
"I heard about the levitating." I rolled my eyes, annoyed.
"No, not that, before then." I looked at him confused.
"What are you talking about Avery?"
"You think I fought whatever that thing was on my own?" My eyebrows furrowed, "You did something that was too powerful for your own good, and the whole room went bright. I've only heard of something like that in books." He grabbed a large piece of hair that was sticking out and pushed it behind my ear slowly. I was trying to listen to what he said after but my mind kept trying to remember what I did. I kept replaying last night over and over in my mind but I don't remember anything after I blacked out. I never knew I could scare myself so bad.
.
For what seemed like forever, we just stared at each other. I wasn't sure what to say, luckily he broke the ice.
"Don't be scared." he moved in closer and grabbed my hand, making small circles with his thumb in attempt to comfort me.
"How can I not be," I looked away, "What kind of crazy shit is happening here?! Just last week everything was so routine and I was fine with that." (More or less)
"I know bab- Rhiannon, but every thing happens for a reason. Just remember that." I felt his hand disconnect from mine and I looked up to see he was gone. My mind was spinning in all directions. God I'm so confused, I just want to clear my head.
So I head back to my room and I've finally figured out where to go, at least from the kitchen to my room and back.
When I open my door there's a familiar woman sitting on my bed."Mom?"
