Life of the Party( Shawn Mendes )

Zayn's POV.

It's time like these that I realize how important it is to have people like Katie in my life. In the past 24 years I never had a friend like her. She is just so different. There is something so alluring in her that I can't help myself from thinking twice about her. She has this aura around her, that pulls me towards her. I know the fact that after all that has happened in the past few days, we aren't just friends. I know that very well. At one side, it seems to be wrong. But at the other side, all of it seems so right. I have never felt this way. Every time Katie's lips lose contact with mine, I'm left craving for more. It all feels right. It's said when you are with the person you are meant to be, everything makes sense. Everything seems to be beautiful. And that is exactly what's happening. I don't know what is is though, infatuation, attraction, love?

To be honest, I had never known what exactly being in love was. Yes Lou had told me about how he felt when he was in a relationship with El, but maybe things are just different in my case.

It's all so complicated. On one hand, I want to go and talk to Ti. The thought of her staying away from me is itself haunting. How will I manage?

But at the same time, I want to give her some space. If she is not comfortable around me, I won't force her. The course of events have been really cumbersome. I don't blame her for that. It's just that something is definitely there between the two of us. It only needs to be recognized, by her as well.

Sipping onto the last bit of coffee left in my mug, I stood up from my table to walk out of the cafe.

Summers are almost here, and I'm actually not ready for it. I hate summers.

"Zayn!", I heard a familiar voice from behind me as I walked down the road.

Turning around, I saw Louis jogging towards me.

"Lou! Hey mate! How are you?", I gave him a hug.

It's always nice to see him, specially when I'm feeling low.

"I am perfectly fine. How about you? Didn't go to the office today?"

"I am about to go there. Was just a bit busy this morning.", I gave him a smug smile, reminiscing on the events of this not so good morning.

"Busy? Who is keeping my mate busy, except his work?"

"Uhh, Katie.", I confessed. It's hard to hide things from Lou.

"Woo! What about her? How are you guys doing? Are you guys together? Or just 'Just friends'"?, Lou quoted the last lines.

This guy I swear.

"We aren't together! And it's a really long story. I'll tell you this evening. Come home today, we'll hang out together."

"Sure. I'll be there by eight. Keep the beer ready.", Lou smirked.

"Hell no. Not tonight Lou."

Even the thought of drinks is enough to scare me, especially after what happened last night.

"Oh boi. Okay I'll see you. Bye!", Lou gave me a hug as I smiled at him.

"Bye Lou! See ya!", I waved at him as he turned around to leave.

With that, I continued on my way to the apartment so that I could get ready for my office.

I reached the apartment door after five minutes and pulled out the keys from my pocket.
