Jungkook POV

Present time

-University-

-------

I was standing outside of the university with Soobin and Yeonjun as we waited for their brothers to arrive. It only took a couple of minutes before Taehyun and Kai walked up to us, wearing their high school uniforms.

"Where's Beomgyu?" Taehyun asked me as he looked among us for his older brother. "I don't know, he-"

"Sorry I'm late guys!" Beomgyu yelled as he ran up to us. His hair was slightly tangled and his uniform wrinkled. "What happened to you?" I asked, chuckling slightly as I helped him straighten his shirt.

"Oh nothing much, I fell asleep during class and only woke up like three minutes ago." Beomgyu said, laughing at himself. I smiled and threw my arm around his shoulders as we began walking home.

I have known the Choi brothers since I was four-years-old. They had been dropped off at the orphanage after the youngest twins, Taehyun and Kai, were born. The older twins, Yeonjun and Soobin, were only two and Beomgyu was only one at the time. They were the only friends I had from the orphanage that didn't get adopted.

After Soobin and Yeonjun turned eighteen, they began to rent an apartment that was down the road from my house. Sometimes I would help pay their bills and buy them food, much to their disproval.

"Bye you guys, I'll text you later. I have to get ready for work." I said once we reached the intersection that separated our paths home. I took my arm off of Beomgyu's shoulders and put it down by my side.

"Okay, have fun at work hyung!" Beomgyu said as he gave me a quick hug and began running down the street and towards his apartment. I smiled slightly at this cute behavior and waved goodbye and the other Choi brothers. They smiled and waved back as they followed their brother down the street.

I walked the other direction towards my house with a wide smile still on my face. I loved how Beomgyu was always happy and excited to see me, just like the boys who would run to meet their older brothers when I was in school. They truly were like my younger brothers.

After about five minutes of walking, I was finally in front of my house. I ran inside and up the stairs to my room and began to get ready for work. I worked at Tijijon, my favorite internet cafe.

I threw on my uniform and grabbed my bag before walking downstairs to get a drink. I went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed my favorite drink... banana milk. I closed the fridge and opened the banana milk before walking towards the front door.

I sipped my banana milk as I walked down the street. I couldn't help but think back to when I first met Yeonjun.

FLASHBACK

-------

I was four years old when I first met him. I was in the backyard picking flowers for the director of the orphanage, Ms.Lee. I was picking a Daffodil when Ms.Lee came out to the backyard. She seemed to be holding something behind her back and she was walking slower than usual. I was confused when I could see her move her lips like she was talking to someone, yet when I looked around there was no one in sight.

Ms.Lee stopped when she was directly in front of me, a gentle and wide smile displayed on her face. I stood up slowly and waited for her to say something. "Hey Jungkook, I want you to meet someone very special. He just arrived at the orphanage today with his four brothers and I want you to take care of him okay?"

After Ms.Lee finished talking a small boy stepped out from behind her. He was sucking his thumb and held Ms.Lee's hand tightly, as if she would disappear if he let go.

I nodded my head as I stepped forward, reaching my hand out to the younger boy. "Hey little guy, my name is Jungkook and I'll be taking care of you from now on." I said with a bright smile.

The boy slowly let go of Ms.Lee's hand and walked a few steps forward until he was directly in from of me. He took his thumb out of his mouth and reached for one of my hands. I let him grab it and gently pulled him to my side.

Ms.Lee smiled and walked back towards the orphanage, leaving me and the boy alone.

I sat down on the grass and so did the boy. We looked at each other for a long minute before he finally broke the silence. "Yeonjun."

"What?" I asked, gently rubbing his hand with my thumb."Name." He said, pointing at himself.

"Oh." I said, smiling as I gently stroked his head. "Your name is Yeonjun? Such a handsome name."

Yeonjun giggled and moved closer to me until he was leaning against me. I looked at his face and saw that his eyes were drooping. I laid back on the grass slowly and let him cuddle me as he slept. It wasn't long until I fell asleep as well.

-------

I smiled at the memory as I walked down the street. Yeonjun really was the cutest baby, and his brothers were absolutely adorable as well.

After a few minutes, I was walking into the internet cafe and clocking in. The woman who was working before me was already gone, leaving a multiple customers lined up at the counter.

"Couldn't of at least taken care of the remaining customers before leaving?" I grumbled to myself as I stood in front of the counter, motioning for the next customer to step forward.

-------

It was late at night when my shift finally ended. I began to head home after turning off the lights and locking up the cafe.

Once I was home I ate leftovers from the yesterday's dinner and went upstairs to my room. I quickly changed into my pajamas and did my nightly routine. I walked over to my bed and dove under the covers, turning off the lights before going to sleep.

'I can't believe I'm graduating tomorrow.'

Unknown POV

I slowly climbed up the tree that was beside his bedroom window. Once I was on top of the tree I began to quietly open the window. I saw him twist and turn in his sleep as if he was having a bad dream as I lightly dropped myself into the room.

I walked up to him and gently moved the hair from his face. I frowned slightly when I saw the sweat dripping from his forehead. "Shhh, it's okay. You're safe... for now at least."

"You look so small and harmless. I can only hope that my father agrees." I looked at the clock that was on his dresser and immediately went towards the window when I saw the time. It was almost time for him to get up for school, and I really couldn't be here when he woke up.

"I'll see you soon, Jungkook."
