"I have graded last week's geography examination and the highest score was achieved by–"
"Mikus!" Cory shouted. "Was it achieved by Minkus? Does it go to Mikus? Minkus right?"
Natalia whipped around and glared at him.
"O-Or Natalia. Does it go to Natalia?"
Feeny stared at Cory unimpressed.
"Mr Minkus."
Shawn winced as he heard the snapping of Natalia's pen. The one thing Natalia couldn't stand was losing. She hated losing anything. Especially in school. She was kind of a sore loser. Not that anyone would ever tell her that.
"That's a shock."
"Thank you Mr Feeny, your bonus question was a real stumper."
Natalia's face was getting dark red at this point. I crumbled up a piece of paper and threw it at Minkus's head.
"Ow." He said flatly.
"Ms Owens, excellent. Mr Baker, very nice." Mr Feeny passed out tests. "Ms Hunter, nice work, one pint behind Mr Minkus."
A pencil was snapped.
"I'm just gonna," Shawn snatched her pencil case so she couldn't break anymore.
"Mr Matthews, well there it is."
"A 'C'?" He exclaimed in shock. "Why'd I get a 'C'?"
"Let's see," Feny said, grabbing the test. "Where to begin? Well for one thing Mr Matthews, this section of the map is not east Germany."
"It's not?"
"Perhaps you heard of a little incident with the Berlin Wall."
"Was that during baseball season?"
"Cory, you're an idiot."
"Well you didn't get the highest score either, Natalia." Cory snapped.
Natalia turned around in her seat, ready to lunge at him. Daniel grabbed her arm, making her sit back down.
"There is no East Germany anymore."
"But the textbook says it's right next to West Germany."
"Yes, well the textbook also says that Alaska and Hawaii will make fine states someday. Things change Mr Matthews, unfortunately the board of education doesn't have the funds to keep up."
"Then how am I supposed to keep up?"
"Watch the news. Pay attention in class. Look at the mimeograph I give you before you turn them into paper airplanes."
Shawn threw his paper airplane at Minkus.
"Ow."
"What good would it do? They keep changing Geography, why can't it be like all the other subjects?" Cory asked. "Math! Two plus two is always four. Science, the earth always goes around the sun. History Lincoln always gets shot in the head."
