forgiveness? (Good ending)

It's been a day and I was resting on my hospital bed, Basil was discharged quickly since he didnt have serious injuries like me.
I hear a knock then the door opens " Hey Sunny " its Kel. I looked down trying to not make eye contact with him " He sat down on my bed and awkward silence covers the room " Soo.. How are you? Your eye ok? "
" Yeah but Im pretty sure ill be blind in that eye now "
" Yeesh Basil really did a number on you, but hey don't feel bad I think you'd look cool, with an eye patch you'd be just like Captain space boy from the game! " We both chuckled " Thanks "
even more awkward silence follows " Hey.. about the other day uhm dont feel too bad about that anymore.. maybe everything is going to change but at least you told the truth now and I can understand you even more so I can help you.. you know? "
" Thanks you've always got my back  I can't understand how you'd still stay by me even if I did something unforgivable " " Hey! No self deprecating talk around me! You're not the kind of person think and you should stop thinking about yourself like that, maybe its true that you killed Mari but that doesn't mean you should hate yourself forever, Mari wouldn't want that either " I smiled at his words " You're right I'm sorry " he smiled back brighter than ever " Anything for my buddy! " We had a few other chit chats after then he left.

Its the day I was discharged, mom said we wouldn't move yet till next week just to make sure I was fine. As we walked out of the hospital I saw Hero waiting for me he waved as soon as he saw me and I went to him with my mom's approval " Hey Sunny uh I was thinking about what you said and Im not sure if I could or should fully forgive you, what you did was wrong but the least I can do right now is understand you.. I can't be mad at you, you were just a kid and keeping this a secret must have made you feel so guilty that you couldn't leave your house.. I think I can kind of understand how you felt after losing Mari.. I know you didn't mean to push her" Mature as always Hero but im kind of glad " Thanks Hero. " " No problem, Ill come say goodbye to you next week before you leave ok? " " okay " He waved at me goodbye before walking home and I went back to my mom and hopped in the car " I guess something good happened, iv never seen you happy for years " true for 4 years I was always cooped up in my room sleeping and everytime she saw me I always looked tired " Yeah I guess everything is going to be okay " I smiled looking out of the window, I could sense her happiness finally seeing her child get better.

More days have passed and I was asked to go pick up something from the bakery before we left town. While waiting for me order I saw Aubrey, Feeling a little bit uncomfortable due to our last interaction I tried to hide myself but seems like one of her friends spotted me " Yo Sunny I forgot to thank you for comforting Aubrey last last week and sorry about your eye " Kim shouted out, dammit. Aubrey looked at my direction hesitantly walking towards me " Hey.. " she muttered. In response I said nothing " Look im sorry about how I reacted the last time we talked.. I just couldn't make up my emotions but now I have and im sorry. I didn't mean what I said either " she looked down as she apologized " It's okay Aubrey.. " " So uhm Ill see you off later, Come visit if you can and contact me anytime.. I wanna make things right again " I nodded and left after I got my order.

Its time, time to finally leave this place, where I grew up where everything happened.. I walked out my home to see the whole gang to see me off, we gave each other a huge hug then I got into the car. As my mom drove away they waved good bye at me. Goodbye Mari, Iv finally accepted the truth and am ready to move on.
