It was with a certain amount of apprehension that we headed down to Hagrid's on Tuesday, heavily muffled against the cold. Hermione had tried to help him with his lesson planning over the weekend, but Hagrid remained dead set on his own ideas. I admit that I was pretty worried. But it wasn't Hagrid or what he was going to have us learn. It was the Toad Wart who would inspect him. Come to think of it, how would the rest of the class behave if Umbitch was teaching?
And speaking of Umbitch. There was a certain amount of uproar from the Irish and Foreign born Students about getting the ban from things. I would think that the Slytherins would've loved it. But they were just as upset as the rest of us were. Especially the Irish Born Slytherins. They were outraged that this happened.
The Toad Wart was nowhere to be seen. Whenever Harry checked the Marauder's Map, Umbitch would always be in her office. Coward.
"Umbitch has no right to do any of this!" Neville shouted. "It's an outrage is what it is! Merlin's Beard. I sound like my Grandmother." He realized.
I was still sad about losing Quidditch. "I worked so hard for that role, Neville. And she took that away from me." I said.
"It's all Malfoy's fault." Neville pointed out. "He incited Harry and George. What did people think would happen?"
I shrugged.
"If you ask me, I say Malfoy went too far." Neville commented.
"Well... at least Jacob told Umbitch to back off. But it might prove difficult to get into contact with them from now on. With Umbitch hurting Athena and watching the Floo Network. There's got to be a way to get word out to them and quickly." I said.
"Hmm..." Neville thought about it for a second. "I wonder... maybe... I could send an owl to my Gran. And that way... she could send it to Ethan and Jacob." He suggested.
I looked at him in awe. "Can we do that?" I asked excited.
"We can try." Neville answered. "My Gran can send it to Ethan. She's on good terms with him."
"We'll have to send it by ways in case Umbitch reads it." I pointed out.
"Good point." Neville agreed. He pulled out a piece of Parchment, and gave a quill to me.
I wrote it out. 'Goddess is compromised, send Hermes to the Minotaur Slayer. We are being watched by sirens. Urgent'
"Done." I declared.
"Good." Neville took the roll. "Umbitch thinks she runs this school. Let's prove her wrong."
And now we wait.
"It'll be okay, Kassie. What's the worst she can do?" Neville asked me as we trudged through the snow on Tuesday.
"I don't want to think about it, Neville." I answered. Knowing my luck, The Toad Wart wouldn't even bother to show up and just slam Hagrid.
Though, Umbitch was nowhere to be seen as we struggled through the snow towards Hagrid, who stood waiting for us on the edge of the Forest. That was when I saw Ryan on a Snow Plow. "Need a ride?" He asked while having Parvati on.
"Want one?" I asked Neville, Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
They all accepted.
I was glad that Unicorn Water did wonders for Hagrid. If it wasn't for that, we would've seen Hagrid attacked by something with venom or something...
"We're workin' in here today!" Hagrid called happily to us as we approached, jerking his head back at the dark trees behind him. "Bit more sheltered! Anyway, they prefer the dark."
