Mike couldn't hide his excitement as his friends came parading down the stairs. He was smiling from ear to ear as he heard familiar loud voices. Halloween was the best night of the year, and this one would be the greatest yet. Instead of going out collecting sweets or going to parties and getting drunk, they would have all the fun they wanted in his basement.
Their senior year Halloween D&D session was going to be the best thing that they had ever done. They had prepared their most elaborate costumes ever, and he, as dungeon master, had organized a campaign designed to last all night. They would still be partaking in all the regular Halloween traditions, though. Each party member had been told to buy as much of a particular item as they could afford. He had been tasked with getting pizza and soda, and he had done as he had promised, even if he had ignored Dustin's requests for pineapple.
His smile had only grown wider as he watched three of his friends traipsing down the stairs in full elaborate costumes, arms full of treats. Lucas had come in full ranger gear, a hand-crafted bow, and his arms were full of bars of dark chocolate. Dustin had somehow managed to get a lute from somewhere to compliment his bard costume and came with his arms full of Twizzlers. Max came down the stairs last, in a very unique outfit that seemed to be some weird kind of mix of an action hero and medieval warrior. He supposed that she could dress how she liked in her unique class; what was important was the cases of alcohol she was carrying.
Neither he nor Will was a big fan of alcohol, but the rest of the party was. It was always funny to watch them, and it would be even more amusing to watch them playing D&D drunk. At this moment, he realized that Will wasn't with the rest of them; neither was El, but that wasn't quite as important to him. The rest of his friends shrugged when he asked where Will was, so he immediately darted up the stairs in search of him.
It was always hard to resist the urge to search for Will whenever he wasn't present, not just because of the events of the upside-down, but because he loved Will more than anyone else. Will hated it when he was babied, so he didn't do it obsessively, but Mike still made sure he took good care of him as any good boyfriend should.
His life had become so much better once he and Will had stopped skirting around their feelings a few years ago. He didn't get back together with El when they split because he had started to accept that he was gay, but that didn't make it any easier to admit his feelings to the person who made him realize that fact. It seemed only fitting that their confession would occur on Halloween on the same couch that they had declared themselves crazy together. God, he really should have realized after that happened.
The fact that it was now also their anniversary only made the day more important to him. Their friends were well aware of their relationship; they couldn't hide it even if they wanted to after finally getting together. So they had just told them, and they were incredibly thankful that their friends had been supportive. As such, Mike was slightly pissed at his friends for not knowing where the most important person in the building was. He knew Will was in the house as he had perked up excitedly when he had heard Will's voice above him, but Mike still wanted to know exactly where Will was so he could kiss him.
When he reached the top of the basement stairs, Will was still nowhere in sight, so he decided to look for him. He passed through a few empty rooms. The rest of his family had gone to stay with extended family, knowing that they didn't want to be in earshot of six teenagers partying all night. Eventually, he stepped into the foyer and relaxed as his eyes landed on an adorable magic-user.
Will looked absolutely incredible, as he always did. His purple Will the Wise robe looked glammed up with sparkles and beads, and it had been refitted to accommodate the boy's growing height. His boyfriend would never be as tall as him, but he had caught up significantly, making it easier to lean against each other lovingly. Mike did find it slightly difficult not to start salivating, however, at the sight of Will's exposed calves poking out under his robe above his long tube socks as his ass faced him.
