Okay, so yeah, thats what happened. Now your all caught up, have any suggestions on what to do if a bloodthirsty croud is chasing you?
Yeah didin't think so...
Thats why I kept running, because if I couldin's stop them, then I sure as hell would not let them catch me. I closed my eyes tight shut wishing for this nightmare to be over. Why did this have to happen? Why me?
I didint know why,but what I did know was that at this point there was nothing I could change about my life. I couldin't go back and fix anything, I couldin't go tell my future self to not go to the shopping mall. But here I was and there was no turning back.
"Kill her!" A person snarled behind me.
I tried to glance back to see who it was but as I turned I slammed straight into a solid wall that was definitely not there the moment before.
Large rough hands pinned me to the ground as a huge man towered over me. He leaned down giving me a toothy grin. His breath washed over me smelling like old cheese and rotten meat.
I winced as the man dug his hands deeper into my shoulders, "Now we burn you at the stake" He laughed a harsh sound that hurt my ears.
Terror filled me to the brim, I couldin't die for something I never did! No way it was unfair, but again life isin't fair. he yanked me upwards forcing me to face the angry crowd his, hands grabbing me by the scruff of the neck as if I were a dog.
I didin't want to look at them didin't want to aknowledge the fact that they now hated me, however as I went to close my eyes tears threatening to spill from my face the man spoke. "LOOK AT THEM" he roared in anger.
I opened my eyes as I was forced to stare out at the scene infront of me. My friends, family, neighboors. They now looked like a pack of angry wolves ready to eat me alive. A traitorous tear slipped from my face.
"Thats right little girl cry" the man sneered, and at that moment I wanted nothing more than to die.
"What should we do with her guys!" The huge man snarled to the croud.
"Should we burn her at the stake?" he said very quietly. The crowd roared in apporoval.
"Should we impale her on a rod?" he said a little louder. The crowd roared again. I tried to block out the sounds but it was to no avail. I winced letting out a sharp cry as the man hoisted me into the air by the back of my neck.
"I SAY WE RIP HER LIMB FROM LIMB!" he roared the loudest of all. The crowd responded in the same manner chanting and cheering. The man set me down. "Any last words" he said loud enough for everyone to hear.
The croud turned deathly silent fixing their eyes on me, judging, staring me down.
I remembered something from the past as they looked at me, my mother....before she had died.
"Mama!" I wanted Mama, she always made me feel better. she would punch Sidney in her smug old face.
"What darling?" my mother embraced me in her warm arms, I loved these arms, they would hold me every night singing me soflly to sleep.
"Sydney" I sobbed "She told me that my dad left because I was ugly and dumb!" I wanted to make the hurt go away, Mama always made the hurt go away.
A flash of anger shone in her eyes. "Listen, theres something I need to tell you" she looked down at me sitting me up on her lap
"When I was little people would bully me all the time, they would throw things at me , hit me. And the worst was that my mother could never do anything about it."
I blinked
"Thats when I took matter into my own hands, your Mama decided to be brave!"
I looked at her, "Brave?" I said timidly.
"Yes" she smiled
"Whats that mean?" I asked
"It means looking her in the face and telling her she's wrong, it means telling the whole world your not afraid of them, it means standing up and fighting for what you know is right" She said.
"I want you to promise me you will never let anyone shove you around darling, never let anyone push you to the ground, when they hit you punch, when they laugh you roar" She said.
" Okay I sniffled"
The day after that I walked up to Sydney and told her right to her face thats she was a jealous snob. She cried, and when I went home to tell mama what I did, I couldin't find her.
That was the day Mama dissapeared.
I never saw mama again.
"So? Any last words?" the man said a grin on his face.
I looked him with a dead cold stare straight in the eyes. A strange warm feeling welled up under my skin, filled me with liquid burning hot rage.
My palms burned my eyes a deathly stare. His eyes widened as he stared at me, seething with rage. I would not let these people stomp me to the ground, I would honor my mothers last words.
"Fuck you" I snarled. And then the world blew apart.
