"NEZUMI!" Shion screamed it was the same painstaking wail he heard so often. Shion. Nezumi smiled. Had the boy actually came to see him one last time, or was his mind playing tricks on him.

"Give me water, grab that..." He heard orders coming above him. Shion. Shion had always taken care of him. Whenever he was sick Shion came to his dreams. Nezumi wanted to only live in his dreams.

"You better wake up, Rat." Shion hissed in his ear. That was new. In his dreams Shion never called him Rat. Nezumi had disliked it from the first time the teen had uttered it. His eyes fluttered.

"Thought that would get you." That sweet voice whispered. Nezumi let his body still. He wanted to stay in the world with Shion. He was done fighting to live.

Water splashed over his face. He bolted up, What the hell... Shion had pushed himself back away from the dark figure. He watched him warily. Nezumi gaped at him. One hand clutching his chest while the other wiped the water out of his face. He reached out. When his fingers actually touched the figure before him he spun to kneel as he leaned in.

"You're real." Nezumi stated his face inches away from Shion's. The pale boy grinned. Then slapped him hard across the face. Before Nezumi could react Shion was hugging him.

"You had me worried, when you just collapsed like that!" He cried in his ear. Nezumi folded his arms around the slim body. Damn he was thin! Like did the guy eat, at all? He thought as he breathed in the scent that was so Shion. He smelled of cherry cake and burning coal. Something that had always made Nezumi happy.

Shion squirmed in his grasp. Nezumi knew he had to let him go, he just didn't want to. He held on for a couple more seconds, before he backed away. He gave Shion a little smile.

"This was the best birthday I have ever had." He said. Nezumi rose from the floor. He pulled off the wet suit jacket. The white dress shirt he had on underneath clung to his muscled back. He turned away from the crowd.

"It's time to go home everyone." He pointed to the clock. Then froze. He was head of security here. How had Shion even gotten into the building without him knowing. He turned to look at the pale man.

"Shion, who let you in?" he asked.

"I work here." Shion stated.

"No." Nezumi shook his head. "I run background checks on everyone before they are hired. There is no way you can be employed here without me knowing." He stated. Shion sighed.

"Nezumi..." He smirked as he said the name. Nezumi shivered slightly. He loved how his name sounded on the man's lips. "I've been working for this company since I was in college. I have transferred a few times. I just started working in this facility today." He said. "There was no need to vet me." He added as Nezumi frowned.

"I still get the list of any new employees coming here. Transfer or not." Nezumi stated.

"Have you even been to your office today?" Shion demanded. Nezumi snorted. Then realized he hadn't.

"I get my work emails on my phone." He pouted. Shion nodded.

"Well, if you had gone to your office, we would have met this morning." Shion stated. He turned away. "The guard at the door said I had to talk with you to get a badge for here. When you didn't come to your office, my supervisor needed me on something and called me down to my workstation." Shion was moving around the room cleaning up the area. "Only after the situation was handled did he tell me I could go find the security head. Do you know they don't speak your name?" Shion chuckled.

"Yeah, I know. The little scientist freaks are afraid of their own shadow. A few stories and I had peace from them." Nezumi chuckled as he cleaned out the coffee pot. His eyes continued to search out Shion.
