Chapter 05 - Lovers

Out, out, in. Out, out, in. You focus on your breath while jogging down the street. It's still cold, your breath turns into little clouds, but the sun is shining down from a light blue sky. Sweat runs down your back, as you finally spot the trailer park again. You lift your arm to look at your watch, it's almost 02:00. You speed up and run the last meters back to your trailer.

Back inside, your trying to catch your breath while walking up to the bathroom. You throw your sweaty clothes into the laundry bin and step under the shower. The hot water massages your tensed neck muscles and sends little shivers down your spine. After shaving and showering, you step out into your steamy bathroom and wrap yourself into a big towel. You lift your arm and wipe away the steam from your mirror. Your wet hair lightly curls over your shoulders, vigilant eyes look right back at you. You put on some moisturizer and blow-dry your hair, then head over to your bedroom and grab some comfy clothes and wait for Robin. She called earlier and asked if she can come over for a talk.

20 minutes later, it knocks. "I'm coming!", you yell while walking towards the door. "Hi!", Robins big smile greets you. You step aside to let her in. Robin steps inside and takes off her shoes. "Wow, your home is so cozy!", she slowly looks around, lightly touching some items of your furniture. You smile. She turns around and holds up a paper bag, "I brought some doughnuts". "Ugh, I love you. You want some coffee or tea with that?", you walk over to your kitchen and grab two cups.

"Okay, tell me everything". Robin and you sat down on your couch, both a big steaming cup of tea between your hands, the doughnuts placed on the little table in front of you. She sighs and blushes. "At the party, after your... little help", she winks at you, "Vickie and I got some drinks and sat outside to talk a little. And what should I say? She's absolutely perfect", her cheeks slightly blush. "She loves art, she's so smart, and she's sooo pretty". You chuckle and take a sip from your tea. "We had such a good time, we talked like for hours", she looks at you with sparkling eyes, fully excited. "That sounds amazing, Robin", you smile at her, "and... is she, like, into girls?" - "when she said she has to go, I was so nervous because I didn't know how to say goodbye to her. Like, should I hug her? Shake her hand? Or even kiss her? I brought her over to her car, and we just stood there in total silence. It was so awkward, I literally just wanted to die. I was too shy to like do anything", she rolls her eyes and sighs. "What happened then?", you take a bite from a doughnut. Robin puts down her cup and buries her face in her hands. "She kissed me", she mumbles into her hands. "SHE DID WHAT?", you grab her arm, screaming loudly. Robin slowly lifts her head, a smile brighter than the sun on her face. "She kissed me!!" - "AHHHH OH MY GOD!", you laugh and hug her with one arm, "I'm so happy for you! How was the kiss like?". Robin blushes even more. "First, she just leaned in for a hug. We hugged, but like, long. Very long. My heart was racing. She smells so good", she sighs, making you giggle. Robin looks so happy. "And then", she continues,"she just kissed me. Shortly, no sexy making-out-kiss or anything, just a short touch of her lips. I thought I'm about to collapse right in front of her". She lifts her cup and takes a big sip from her tea, looking at you with red cheeks and happy eyes. Robin and you spend the next hours with planning how she should ask Vickie for a date, where to go and what to do. It's so nice to have such an open talk with a friend, it's been a long time since you had such a friendship with somebody.

After she went back home to get ready for the gig later, you start getting ready for work. You decide to go for a more rock-like look, so you put on some fishnet tights, black ripped jeans shorts and a black shirt. Black doc martens and an oversized black jeans jacket complete your look for tonight. A quick look over to your clock makes you grab your stuff and hurry out the door.

"You look hot", Gabby winks at you as you rush behind the bar. You give her a kiss on the cheek and throw your bag and your jacket underneath the counter.
Two hours later, the bar is filled up pretty good. Gabby and you stand behind the counter, drawing beers and mixing drinks. The door opens and Robin steps in, followed by Steve. You lightly squint over to Gabby, who is desperately trying to look busy. You've never seen her rinsing a glass this focused. "Hello there, ladies", Steve takes a seat right in front of you. Robin next to him, waving at you. "Hi, guys. The usual?", you turn around and grab two beers for them. Gabby lightly smiles at Steve, making him turning bright red. You and Robin share a look, smirking. The door opens again, and Eddies band mates enter the bar. Your belly flutters, when your eyes spot Eddie. He turns around and looks over to the counter, searching for you. Your eyes meet, he winks at you and carries his guitar to the small stage. Robin starts clapping and cheering, Steve and Gabby share smitten looks, completely forgetting where they are. You roll your eyes at them and laugh. "Hi everyone, we're corroded coffin. Are you ready to rock?", the lead singer shouts into his mic, the crowd starts cheering. They start their gig with a cover of ACDCs 'Back in Black' and only seconds later, everybody's cheering, singing and having a really good time.
