Remembering

After his memories faded, he tried asking anybody around where he was. He knew his name, just not his past. They tried asking them about him, but everybody claimed that they've never heard of any 'Rob'. This was weird.

He was aware that he probably had no parents, so he was homeless. Fortunately, he managed to sneak into one's house without being seen, and he's lived there for quite a while now. It was like the owners didn't know that they even had a basement or so. He'd managed to sleep on a pretty comfortable mattress, he'd also found leftovers and a few blankets, also a toothbrush for his teeth. He had the needs to survive, but all of that went down the drain when two kids almost his age found him. He attempted to run away, but they were on his tail. Once the chase stopped, he surrendered and was ready to explain to the teens why he was even there in the first place.

At first, he didn't really know why either. Well, mostly because he didn't want to live in the dumps, but now he had to after being caught. And also because he was an orphan so all he could do was live in a basement without their family knowing. He also assumed that he was a nobody to everybody. He felt like a mistake, out of place. He had no purpose in this world.

''Alright, dude, why were you hiding in our house?'' Gumball's words woke Rob back to reality. He was trying to remember the most recent events that had happened.

''Because there is no place for me in this world, because I am nothing, because I have no reason to exist.'' Rob said, feeling pain but it didn't look like the two brothers cared.

''Yeah, I meant why were you hiding in our house, specifically.''

''Oh, uh, 'cause  you're the only people in this town thick enough not to notice. You guys had a whole room you didn't even know about.''

''Oh, you know what else is thick? Your mom's chin!'' Gumball tried to startle the taller boy with his voice rising, but it didn't seem to work. He was.. chill, calm, even when he didn't wanna be. As much as those words were supposed to hurt, Rob felt no pain at the mention of 'mom.'

''I don't have a mom.'' His answer was simple, but it didn't seem like Gumball understood, so he had to repeat that.

''Yeah, I meant your mom's skin!''

''I still don't have a mom.''

''Quit saying 'mom.'' Darwin whispered.

''Yeah, I meant your fun twin.'' Gumball still went on.

''I don't have any siblings, either.''

''Darn it, I meant your-'' The cat came to a stop as Darwin interrupted.

''Gumball, please just stop.'' He said, looking back at Rob, ''So, what happened?''

''I can't remember. I've nothing left of who I was. I'm.. nobody.'' Rob vented, almost bursting in tears. Even if he'd cry, he'd cry static, no real tears, no water. He viewed him as a nobody. He was like a ghost. Invisible to others.

''Well, maybe it isn't that bad. I mean there's a lot of people who like to start over and reinvent themselves.'' Gumball hesitated at first but that was all he could think of in this situation. He wasn't the best at.. comforting, and neither was Darwin, but they both still tried.

The answer shocked Rob however. He thought he was the only person with this problem, but they proved him wrong. ''Really? Who would I be?''

''You could be the cool slacker guy who only lives for kicks!'' The fish said his idea first, but Rob's hopes went down when Rocky passed by, claiming that the role Darwin just said was already taken by him.

''Well, you could be the town clown.'' It was Gumball's turn now, then silence fell between the three as Banana Joe passes by, eating a cupcake and laughing.

''You could be like the feeble hypochondriac.'' Teri passes by when Darwin says that. Gumball sighs, accidentally blowing her away.

''Uh, the vegetarian hippy guy!'' Mr. Small walks by them. Rob gets a sort of familiar sensation at his sight, but all of that disappears when he leaves. Many roles get said but every person that has the respective role passes by, letting Rob down slowly. Gumball sighs sadly as the path gets cleared out, the three being the only ones there again.

''Or the guy who walks around with no pants on!'' Gumball suggests his last one, but realized that role is claimed by his own brother as he covers his legs and blushes. They both give up. ''Darn it! Sorry, man, but all of the good personalities are taken.''

Then Darwin remembers. He gasps, ''What about a bad one?''

''Yeah..'' Gumball trails off a bit before continuing, ''there's no bad guy here! You could be our mortal enemy!'' jumping in excitement, only now they'd realize how fun that'd be.

''You could be like the worst guy the world has ever made.'' Darwin puts his hands on his sides. They were happy, but was Rob even? Upon hearing the last two words, the cyclops' eye opens wide, his pupil going smaller as the words echo in his mind which fades into Mr. Small's voice. Then it hits him, like a Deja Vu. He started remembering everything.

''I remember.'' He mutters, remembering exactly what had happened when escaping that void of a place.

''All the mistakes the world has ever made..''

''I was one of the world's mistakes..''

''It's Molly's treehouse!''

''But you only cared about Molly. You saved her, and you left me there to rot. But I clung to life, and I came back..''

''What were we talking about again?''

''But at a cost. You left me disfigured, a nobody. But now you've given me a part to play in the world.'' Rob was shown vengeful now. He remembered. He remember what he'd gone through. He was going to get his revenge, hyperventilating while saying, ''I will be your worst nightmare! I will destroy everything you care about! I will take away everyone you love! I will be your.. nemesis!'' before realizing what he said, he snapped back to reality as Gumball gave him a rather calm reply.

''Cool, glad we could help.'' He says, walking away with Darwin contently from Rob, who disappointedly looks after them. But he meant it when he says that he'll take his revenge. He just had to figure out how and where to start first.

He couldn't continue with this body, but he found it quite better now. Well, since he'd be a nemesis to somebody, like a villain, his appearance was only perfect now, considering that he looks more... scary-looking, I guess? He still hated the static though, but he noticed it glitching faster and even glowing sometimes when he gets madder. It was.. unique, in a way.
