Volume VII.

"Listen, from now on, your problems are my problems. Ok?" Asked xingqiu who lifted his head and looked at Chongyun with doe-like eyes.

"You know I loved you, and even now I still do. I just don't want to get hurt out of surprise. If I made you stay and care for me, you would've gotten sick and tired of me and left me, leaving me in surprise and hurting even more." Said Chongyun.

"We had a relationship even when both our agencies were enemies and on the brink of war. Do you think that stopped me from loving you?" Asked xingqiu.

Chongyun grew silent, not able to reply to that. As they both stayed silent, xingqiu heard a buzz noise coming from his pocket. He took his phone out and answered the phone.

"Hey, Auntie. What's up?" Asked xingqiu.

"Hey! I wanted to talk with you for a bit. Could you come home?" Asked yelan.

"Yea. I'll be home in 10." He said as he hung up.

"I have to head home now. I'll give you your aunts phone number and try to find the time to talk with her." Said xingqiu as he placed a business card on the table.

Once at home, Yelan quickly stood up from the couch and walked over to xingqiu.

"What's up? You wanted to talk?" Asked xingqiu.

"Sit on the couch and then I'll explain." Said yelan and they both walked over to the couch.

Xingqiu sat and looked up at yelan who was playing with fingers anxiously.

"I'm thinking of asking Shenhe out." Said yelan.

"Ok." He said without hesitation.

"Huh?" Said yelan in confusion.

"Yea, sure. Ask her out." Said yelan.

"Just like that? I thought you'd be surprised." Said yelan.

"Your life isn't mine so I don't have to be surprised for anything or any choice you make or do." Said xingqiu.

"Mm. Ok." Said yelan.

"Anyways, how's Chongyun? Did you talk to him?" Yelan asked him as she sat down on the couch and turned on the tv.

"Yea. Now that I think about it, I feel bad for digging up his grave." Xingqiu told her.

"You what now?" She sat up and looked at him in shock.

"Oh, yea~. I kind of dug up his grave for a stupid reason and now I regret it." Xingqiu said nervously.

"Does he still love you?" Yelan asked him.

"I guess, yea." He said.

"I'm surprised he still loves you after you literally dug up his grave. Doesn't feel sad or heart shattered?" Yelan asked rhetorically.

"I'm going to my room, so- enjoy your show." He told her as he got up and walked inside.

The next day...

Yelan went to work normally and made a stop to shenhes office. She knocked on the door and walked inside.

Hey. Shenhe. How's it going?" She asked and walked in.

"Good. How about you?" She asked back.

"Are you free later today?" Yelan asked her.

"Well, I have some free time today. Why?" Shenhe asked her while she flipped through her book pages.

"Nothing, really. Just wanted to hangout." Yelan told her and then walked out of the room.

The day went by smoothly. They attended to their classes and students. They worked normally and ate together lunch. However, yelan was too busy thinking about how she was going to ask shenhe out. She was so nervous and that was all she could think about. By the end of the day, yelan went home and sat in the couch while she waited for it to be 8.

"Hey, what're you doing here? I thought you were going to ask shenhe out." Xingqiu said as he walked out of his room.

"I'm rethinking this, xingqiu." Yelan said.

"What? Why? You were so determined on this matter." Xingqiu was confused.

"I want to marry her." Xingqiu spit out the water that was in his mouth and looked at her.

"You want to marry her?" Xingqiu asked.

"Yea. Something wrong?" Yelan asked him.

"No. Just stunned. You don't have anything ready. How are you going to propose tonight without the proper venue, ring, decoration, etc?" Xingqiu asked.

"I won't. I'll propose this weekend." Yelan said.

"This weekend? You mean 2 days from now?" Xingqiu raised his eyebrows.

"Yep. I'll plan it all. We have a 2 week holiday starting tomorrow so there won't be any school. You'll help me, right?" Yelan asked.

"Sure. I should tell Chongyun to help us too. I'll also tell him to keep it a secret from shenhe." Xingqiu said as he opened his phone and texted Chongyun.
