Mikasa's POV

August 17th, 6:00 AM

She looked down at the busy city road beneath her from the roof. Lots of cars, going point a to point b, not knowing what she was about to do. Or knowing how it'd affect them. She inched closer to the edge, her breath shaking. As she thought about her life up to this point, she remembered the boy. Thinking of him only made it worse, as a few tears ran down her blank, pale face. All she could think of now was him... and her brother. God knows how devastated he'll be.

He closed her eyes as she prepared to jump, ending it all. She can't live without finding him first, and she knows she never will.

"I'm sorry," she whispered to the cars down below, knowing they can't even hear her. As she held on her scarf and held her leg out to fall, someone pulled her collar back, throwing her to the floor. There he was.

"On the apartment roof? Really?," he said, looking and sounding pissed off. "Get back inside. Get ready, or you'll be late." She went back inside, exiting the roof and entering her apartment. He might be shorter, but he's also older, and intimidating. She doesn't even know why and neither did her parents. She grabbed her backpack and rewrapped her scarf before heading out. She heard Levi yelling at her about something, but she didn't care. She just kept walking to school while ignoring his yells from afar.

He never cares, what's the difference now? She thought to herself on the way. She could never think of an answer. The only time he shows concern is when she mentions the scarf, or the boy. She laughed to herself at the thought of Levi having a grudge with a kid she hasn't seen since they were nine. After almost an hour of walking, making her way out of the city, down a long road, and through a suburban neighborhood, she finally saw the school. She noted that she needs to bike there from now on as she walked in the school entrance.

She got her schedule from the office, and saw what she had first, Algebra 2, and it starts in 30 minutes. She saw other teenagers, hanging out, waiting until first period started. She decided to just leave earlier, so she can be alone for a bit, she has nobody to hang out with anyways. She barely talks, and when she does she's so quiet you might not even hear her. She just thinks a lot, enjoys being in her head, and that's fine.

Not long after she ran upstairs and sat down in Algebra 2, the teacher came in, Mr. Zacharias. You can tell he doesn't shave much, but the little amount of facial hair on him isn't gross, and doesn't look bad. One thing she had to get used to when looking at him was his weird blonde hair. It doesn't match the rest of him; especially his brown jacket, cargo jeans, and white dress shirt. It honestly didn't match at all, now that she thought about it.

After closely examining and judging Zacharias' fit, she laid her head down, thinking of the end of the day. I can't wait to go home, she thought to herself.

"You a new kid here?" Mike said suddenly, catching her out of her daydreaming.

"Uh, yeah.." she responded.

"Man, so I have three this class..." he mumbled to himself, going to his desk and doing something, she assumed work, at the computer.

"Can this please be over..." she said to herself, slowly falling asleep. Right when she hit the moment of being asleep, the bell rang. Kids fled in, sitting everywhere. Two boys in jerseys looked in, but then quickly walked away. Were they ditching class? She asked herself in her head. Why do I care, anyways? Soon after, a grungy looking boy with arm sleeved walked in the class.

"Ah, come in," said the teacher, welcoming the kid. She noticed herself staring at him as he walked in, so she quickly looked down in response. Then, she started remembering that night, six years ago. I can't go into a daydream now, she thought. Because he's sitting right next to me.

Just as she narrated, Eren Jaeger sat down at the desk right next to her, plopping down and minding his own business. Please don't talk to me, she thought to herself, trying to calm down as her breathing quietly but quickly sped up; her heartbeat following. In her peripheral view, she saw him taking glances at her. She also noticed a confused look on his face, like he was trying to figure something out, but something wasn't connecting. She glanced back, trying to get an idea of what he was doing, when they locked eye contact. For just a split second, she saw his emerald eyes, but they both quickly looked away. Then, she realized. He was the boy. He looks different, but she can tell it's him. She finally found him, and now...... now, she doesn't know what to do, or how to feel.so she kept to herself. This'll be one hell of a class, she thought, as more kids fled in and class started.
