I walk into grab'n'go to see a help wanted sign the bell rings showing that I have walked in I go up to the counter "hi could I apply for a job here" I say to the elderly woman behind the counter "of course dear let me go get the forms for ya" she says walking into the back of the store I look around to see Vance by the pinball machine of course he's always there hunched back over that god damn machine the woman comes back out with the forms "here you go love" she says passing me a pen and the form I fill it out in a couple minutes "here you go Deana" I say reading her name tag she nods and looks over it "wow this is very well written young lady" she says looking impressed I smile "youu can start tomorrow" she says going to the back passing me the uniform "thank you so much" I say shaking her hand (okay I know how that's not how you really get a job irl but it's a book and I'm to lazy to write all about the job interview)

TIME SKIP (the next day)
I wake up it's a Saturday morning the sound of kids playing outside or there bikes riding by I get up and put in my work uniform and walk into the kitchen my uncles passed out on the couch I grab a blanket and put it over him picking up his empty beer bottles I walk out the door throwing all the bottles in the bin watching the mums looking at me like those bottles are mine I ignore the stares and keep walking,I get to the shop to see Deana there waiting for me "hello Valentina today you'll be closing up okay" I nod and she passes me the keys to the store I sit behind the counter reading a magazine I hear the bell ring looking up it's Vance obviously he passes me a five and I pass him the change all In quarter's and he walks off to the pinball machine couple minutes after finney and robin walk in I roll my eyes as they laugh they walk around looking for snacks once they get what they want and walk over I scan all there items "4.30 please" I say looking at them "how about a family and friends discount" finney says looking at me "5.30 please" I say laughing he rolls his eyes and passes me 6 dollars I give him his change him and robin come over the counter "no touching" I say reading my magazine once again I hear the bell ring it's moose his eye looks better "hey Val" he says waving "hey moose" I say waving back he grabs a six pack "this please" I roll my eyes "I.D please" I say holding in my laugh his smile turns into a frown "I'm fucking with you just don't tell my boss that's going to be 20 dollars" I say looking up at him he laughs and passes me the twenty "have a good day Val" he says walking off "mhm don't get caught!" I yell as he walks through the door vance come up to the counter "more quarters?" I ask not looking up from my magazine "no I wanna talk" he says still standing there I sigh looking up at him "okay then" finney and robin were trying not to laugh they found this all amusing I look at them both giving them a death glare they continue to read whatever they were reading me and Vance walk over to the pinball machine "what do you wanna talk about" I say "about yesterday" he says I frown I didn't want to talk about that and I didn't care if he was going to apologise because I didn't want to hear it maybe he shouldn't of beaten up finney then we would be cool but no he's a prick that likes to bully middle schoolers like that's not cool your just a fucken pussy if you do that type of shit.

"I don't wanna talk about this right now" I say walking back to the cash register and reading my magazine "okay finn,Robin yous need to go home now I don't want you out at dark because of the-" finney cuts me off "yes because of the kidnappings we know" finney says rolling his eyes they leave the store it just me and Vance now it was awkward and silent until he came up to the cash register "I'm sorry" I look up at him and scoff "your shitty sorry isn't gonna heal my cousins bruises" I say rolling my eyes "oh my fucking god consider your self lucky I never apologise to anyone not even my family okay your like one of the first people I've apologised to and meant it okay I don't wanna fuck our friendship up okay I actually tolerate you so take it or leave it" he says sounding pissed I think for a moment he actually meant it "fine I accept your apology and I'm sorry for knocking you out" I say trying not to laugh

TIME SKIP
I look at the time 9:45pm it was time to close up the shop "Vance time to leave" I say pointing at the clock he rolls his eyes and leaves the shop I count the money and put it away into the safe I lock everything up and start to walk home when a hand wraps around my mouth stopping me from screaming "shhh" it was fucking Vance that asshole "are you crying?" He say looking at the tears down my face "yea well it's not everyday I get dragged into an ally way" I say punching his shoulder we start to walk when a feel a hand in mine I laugh quietly "shut up" Vance says I grin "aww you want hold my hand" I say teasing him I start laughing "shut up or I'll beat the shit out of you" he says I'm still laughing "you would never your to much of a softy" I say nudging his shoulder "don't push it to far" he says nudging me back "well this is my stop" I say stopping infront of my house "alright bye" he says I give him a quick kiss on the cheek and he turns red "do go soft on my yet" I say laughing and walk into the house.
