3: Underground City

Yuu is hugging the young boy, trying to calm him down, while taking hold of Milaynas hand giving her a comforting and rage filled look. He squeezes her hand while still holding the young boy. All the kids waiting to get to their destination in the back of the truck wagon.

4 Years Later

Milayna sits in a wide chair raised slightly from the ground. The cushions are rough but squishy. Black and white in color just like the uniform she is wearing, along with the other kids who are sitting next to her.

"Mika! Mila!" The boy besides Milayna, calls to her and their other friends attention.

He is holding a thick book that looks like it was written hundreds or thousands of years ago. A strange cover and a font that Milayna has not seen before.

"Guys, take a look at this!" Yuu holds the book up, opening it even more, the title Notes on Nightwalkers.

Milayna looks over to the slightly younger boy who is pointing in his book while he lifts his eyes to look over to Mika.

"It says right here... That if you bash a vampire's head in, It'll die!" Yuu exclaims with passion, Mila gives him a hum. She looks over his shoulder, without moving to much, trying to read its contents.

"I'm busy thinking. Don't talk to me right now, okay?" Mika keeps his eyes closed and his arms folded; looking deep in thought.

"Also, if you rip off the badges they have on their arms, U.V. light will kill 'em too!" Yuu looks back into his book reading the information on the vampires.

"Not interested," Mika gives Yuu a short reply, trying to go back to his thoughts.

"I'm surprised you can even read that book," Milayna continues looking at the words in the book.

"What even is the point in reading a book like that anyway, Yuu?" Mika sits up and looks over to question Yuu.

"HEY!" Yuu growls to Milayna before giving a 'humph' and looking to Mika. "Isn't it obvious? So I can get stronger and kill all those stupid blood-suckers!" Yuu starts getting louder explaining his resolve.

"Another stupid declaration from Yuu. You do realize there's absolutely no way a human can get stronger than a vampire, right? Use your head for once," Mika gives out a tired sigh for having to say the same thing, again.

"Really, Yuu. Plus, we are still kids you know. They drain us everyday. You won't be able to beat them starting here. We are watched constantly and can't do anything, or we could get in trouble," Milayna points out, sitting up while propping her arm on her leg and using her hand to hold her face.

"How will you know if you don't try?!" Yuu shouts at his friends.

Milayna gives him a dead-panned look, and Mika sighs.

"C'mon, anyone with brain cells knows. It's even written in the book you're reading, right?" Yuu does not respond to Mika, blushing in embarrassment. "A human's physical capabilities is only one-seventh that of a vampire."

"And it's most likely referring to adults, maybe even trained people, while we are jus- Ngh!" Milayna gets cut off when a hand pulls her shoulder back, putting a needle into the side of the collar around her neck. Mika and Yuu get the same treatment from other vampires.
