Chapter 2: The Jenna Thing

Avery, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily are the Grille and Avery says, "Why was Jenna there?" Spencer says, "I guess she's back." Hanna says, "That cop acted like we were suspects or something." Emily says, "Do you think we looked guilty?" Avery says, "Why would we be? We haven't done anything wrong." Hanna says, "Except lie about the Jenna thing." Spencer says, "We promised we'd never bring up the Jenna thing again, remember? It never happened." Avery says, "Have you found a way to forget? I still wake up sometimes in the middle of the night." Spencer says, "Avery, it was an accident." Emily says, "I don't get it. How does A know something about me that only Alison knew?" Avery says, "Ali knew all of our secrets, but... we never knew any of hers." Spencer says, "I knew some." Avery says, "Go on." Hanna says, "Talk." Spencer says, "I can't." Avery says, "Spence, no, you are not gonna drop a bomb like that, and just clam up!" Spencer says, "She'd so kill me if I told you." Hanna says, "She's dead." Spencer says, "Ali was seeing someone that summer." Emily looks at Spencer and says, "I knew she was keeping something from me... from us." Avery says, "Well, why didn't she want us to know?" Spencer says, "He was an older boy, and he had a girlfriend." Emily says, "Who was it?" Spencer says, "She never told me his name." Hanna says, "Okay, that's only half the secret." Spencer says, "It's more than you ever got from her." Avery says, "How was it that Ali told us nothing and we told her everything?" Emily says, "Because she made us feel like we were part of something special." Hanna softly smiles and says, "We were." Avery softly says, "I miss that." Spencer says, "Me too." Emily says, "I miss Ali." Hanna looks at the bracelet that Alison gave them on Emily and she says, "I can't believe you still wear that." Emily says, "Ali still wears hers. Wore." Spencer says, "When Ali didn't come home that night, I knew something terrible must have happened but there was always some part of me that imagined someday she'd just show up." Avery says, "Yeah, I used to think that maybe she'd just... run off with some guy." Emily says, "She was laying on a beach somewhere." Hanna smiles and says, "Or getting a tan out by the pool with that hot lifeguard." Avery smiles and says, "Ohh. Yeah. What was his name?" Hanna says, "Who cares? 'Save me!'" They all laugh, and the door opens and in comes Jenna. They grab their stuff and leave and go their separate ways.
