I open my eyes to a blue sky and the sound of trees and bushes rustling in the wind. The soft grass under me comforted me and held my weight gently. Where am I?
I stand up and look around. I'm surrounded by trees, but in front of me is an opening to a huge field. Excitement fills my body as I run towards the field full of light, giggling and laughing. This feeling is so warm and free...
Amazing animals are everywhere. Sheep, cows, chicken, pigs, and im sure a bunch more! I fall onto my back with a happy huff. I want to stay like this forever. The sun beams on me, almost like it was hugging me. I close my eyes and decide to rest a bit more. The breeze is so comforting and welcoming. When I open my eyes, I realize that the happy and free feeling that was in my stomach is so now gone, replaced by a very horrible feeling. I shiver as goosebumps appear on my skin. I hug myself to keep warm. I gotta find somewhere to stay. Someone is following me. Something is following me. They're watching me. I gotta go. NOW!
I run through the field with the grass grazing me. I see lights in the distance! Warm orange lights! I gotta go there now! I turn behind me to see all types of creatures following me. The undead, along with the creepiest of crawlies. As I run towards the lights, that free and comforting feeling comes back to me, and a smile forms on my face that quickly turns into giggles.
It's a village! Upon entering the village, I slow down to a walk. I'm surprised they're still out and about at this time, especially with all these monsters roaming. Then again they do have a big strong protector. The golem! The villagers give me weird stares as I walk through the village, but I also get warm smiles and welcoming gestures as some of them approach me to shake my hand and give me a pat on the back. I feel so warm and welcomed here. A baby villager walks up to me and tugs on my pants. I kneel down. She hands me a daisy, and I nearly start crying.
"Awh..! T-thank you so much!" I pat her head. Her father gives me a nod as they walk off.
The villagers here are so kind! They're so selfless and welcoming. I munch on the bread one of the villagers made. It looks like it was freshly made. Crunchy outside but soft chewy inside.
They've taught me how to craft, and I've just made my own bed! As I position it on the grass, a villager politely pats me on the shoulder and shows me into their home. I lift the bed up and drop it in their home. It's surprisingly light. "Thank you so much!" I hug the elderly villager, and she's taken by surprise but hugs me back.
"I'll repay you." I smile confidently at the villager, and she smiles back. She closes her door and puts out her torches. I climb onto my bed with a yawn as I quickly drift off, excited for the next day....
I continue to thrive in this village. I know every friendly face here, and everyone has been so kind to me. Slowly, they warm up, and I do the same. I've even gotten close to the iron golem as well! It's super cool and mysterious.
Though, one day, everything went wrong. The golem couldn't be found anywhere and it turned dark quickly. The village was invaded by monsters. They've taught me how to fight, so I wield my sword and try my best to protect them. But. I can only do so much. We're surrounded. They're coming from all directions. I hear explosions and screams and shouts as I watch everyone I've known die. It was horrible. Blood was everywhere.
My eyes widen in anger as I hold my sword tighter before slaying every beast before me. Suddenly, an arrow pierces my shoulder, and I'm pushed to the ground. I scream in pain. It hurts. I grit my teeth as I stand back up and continue to fight.
I have to keep going. I have to protect them! My confidence shrinks as I watch villagers get mutilated and killed. The children's bodies haunt my memories. With a war cry, I continue to fight. My arms are begging for me to stop, and so are my legs. But my heart knows what to do.
I tried hard to protect everyone, but nothing worked. No... this can't be happening. Please, someone help! Help them! "HELP! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!" I'm surrounded already. These beasts want me dead. The zombies, the skeletons, the spiders, and the creepers. I fall to my knees as they quickly close in on me. "Help me, please..."That day, nothing helped me. I was left to die.
...After that event, I was the only survivor, so wounded that i would have rather died that day. The pain was horrible. I had to learn how to live on my own. I had to learn how to craft and fight on my own. For some reason, I barely felt any anything anymore. Only the feeling to fight to survive. I'm all alone in this world. I'm so insignificant. I'm naive. There's so much I don't know. So I'll better myself. Slowly, but steadily. I'll get stronger and stronger.
But sometimes, I wonder what could've happened differently if I continued to live like that. This is the wake-up call I needed. But it doesn't stop my tears from coming out every day.
I've eventually made myself a home. I put my sweat and blood into this place. It's...lovely. I'm happy at least my hard work here paid off.
Eventually, I was able to hold and lift a stone sword. I've trained myself to fight. I don't know how long it's been, but at least I'm getting by. Every now and then, I read books that were written by the villagers. They tell amazing stories of a dragon that lives in a place called "The End."
It also tells stories of a place called "The Nether." In order to get to this place, I need a portal made of obsidian. I need to make a portal. I need to get stronger. The nether holds the strongest ore in the world called netherite. This may be a myth, but I'll never know until I try.Throughout the days and months that go by, I ready myself to go into the nether. And soon enough, I'm ready. I make the portal using obsidian and ignite it with a flint and steel. Boom. A purple light shines on me as the hypnotizing portal is ready. It looks unreal. I've never seen anything like this before. I'm ready. I jump into the portal, and as I open my eyes...
"Woah..." I gasp as I take in the orange and red world. It feels really warm here. But I gotta be careful. The book also talks about dangerous creatures that lurk within the nether. I can't get lost here. I have to remember where the portal is.
As I walk around quietly, I find the entrance to what looks like an abandoned and ruined kingdom. The huge building is destroyed. I walk in hesitantly. Hm. Bastion remnant.
My eyes widen as I find a chest. I quickly open it and loot it up and down. It's full of so many valuable stuff! Gold and netherite! No way! I stuff as many loot as I can into my bag.
I quickly turn my head up as I hear a growl and a oink. A piglin brute! He's twice my size! I can't fight him! I quickly dash away as he waves his ax at me. Phew. Good thing I'm faster than him...? Why isn't he chasing me? I slowly go back to take a peek at this weird creature. He is on his knees with his hands attached to the ground, panting. There's an arrow shot right through his ankle. I mentally wince. That looks like it hurts. Fuck. My heart is telling me to help him. I'm gonna die.
I slowly approach the brute. He looks up to me and roars, holding his ax up. He's trying to scare me away. As I extend my hand towards his head, he whimpers and looks down.
"I won't hurt you." He's vulnerable and looks ready to give up.
Now that I get a closer look at his body, he looks badly hurt. He has big cuts everywhere. I gently pet his head with a gulp. I'm so scared right now. One sudden move, and I'm thrown across the room. The brute watches me carefully as I move to the other side to check on his leg. The arrow was shot cleanly through his ankle.
"Here... let me pull this out for you." He looks wearily at me.
I gotta let him know that I'm not trying to hurt him. He looks away as he sees me wrap my fingers around the arrow. I gotta pull it out fully. I can't leave even a bit still in. I inhale, and with one strong swipe, I pull the arrow out.
The brute squeals and grits his teeth in pain. Phew. I stand back up and wipe my sweat. Gotta go now before he breaks my jaw. Just as I walk away, he tackles me. But it isn't cause he wants to hurt me. He licks my face all over like a wolf pup! My eyes widen in shock once more, but then I enter a fit of giggling. This feeling...it's back. It's that warm feeling. That feeling of happiness!
"H-hey! Stop that!" I giggle as he gets off me.
I guess that's one way to say thanks. Hm. Fine. I'll at least bandage his wounds before I go. He's made my day. This has been an amazing day of discovery! I need to put all of this in my journal! I sit up with a smile and pull out bandages from my bag made of fabric.
The brute watches me carefully as I take my time to wrap him up, shoulder to hip. I also wrapped up his ankle. "Alright. I'm done, big guy." I stand back up and pet his head one more time before I head back. I have a feeling I'll be seeing more of him.
