I felt energetic and inspired to train and get stronger, Oslac and my emotions being my motivation. I have to do this for him. I couldn't save him. I quietly sniffle and hiccup as I swiftly swing my daggers, cutting the humid air. I kept swinging and slicing and stabbing until my arms hurt. I tried to find out a way to light up the portal, but the other side of it was probably broken, meaning I can't light this one up until the other side is fixed. I could make a new portal but it would take me somewhere else. Somewhere far away. Plus i dont even have a flint and steel to light up the portal. I spent every second thinking about revenge and my beloved Oslac. I should have killed them all. It's all my fault. The villagers and Oslac. It's all my fault. I didn't get to say goodbye. I didn't get to tell him I loved him so much. I wish I could hold him in my arms until we fell asleep together one last time. Just one last time. This world is cruel. Bad things happen.
Mhm...
How do you know that the brute is dead?
He has to be...Why wouldn't he be dead?
Have hope. Seeing is believing. Until you see Oslac dead on the ground, he's not dead yet.
It wouldn't make sense...
I just have a feeling. We need to have hope.
Though my head pounded and my whole body was cold and shaky, I knew they were right. I just didn't have enough willpower to accept it. I wanted to but couldn't. None of it made sense. In the Nether I had to eat mushrooms every day. Complaining was pointless. I don't know how long it's been. It's so difficult trying to guess when a day has passed. I tried my best to remain sane, while my brain continued freaking out in this environment. It was trying to make sense of everything. I visited that library again. The one Oslac brought me to. Maybe if I read books, they will help keep me calm. So I read and read. One book tells the story of "The End", and how to get there. Another story is written in a different language. It just looked like symbols to me. My hair grew taller and taller until it reached the middle of my back. When I looked at myself in my sword, my dark reflection almost looked like a girl, especially with my naturally long eyelashes. I continued to train, switching to netherite swords in both hands. When my arms starting to feel sore, I kept going. When they starting to hurt, I gave them a break. I practiced running with 2 netherite swords, balancing on one leg, and swinging them. They were so heavy but I MUST get stronger. I fought monsters, me being the predator and them being the prey. It felt good killing them. One day I woke up but couldn't move my arms at all. I tried to move them but when I did it felt like my bones had shattered. So that day I just sat in the remnant, thinking. I can't keep crying.
Your arms are getting stronger but don't overwork them. Just let them heal right now and when they're healed, they'll be thrice as strong as before.
Hm.
I don't know how long it's been, but if I had to guess I'd say it's been 7 months.
Sounds accurate. I look at my ragdolled arm with a scoff. My shirt is deteriorating. I should take them off later. I sigh, closing my eyes. Surprisingly I have no thoughts. None. I feel calm. I'm calm.
I woke up again. My arms are slightly healed. I can move them now, but if I move them too fast they hurt. I walk out through the back of the remnant, scavenging for mushrooms. I cut a tree down, grabbing a long and placing it down. I clash my swords over the log. The sparks ignite the log, forming a fire. I place down my swords before pulling out my daggers and skewering the mushroom and holding them over the fire. I sigh as I eat the mushrooms. I pull off my shirt before cutting my pants, turning it into shorts. I can move more freely this way. I really need to get home. My eyes widen as I hear a big crash come from the remnant. I immediately stand up, pulling out both of my daggers. Someone is inside the treasure room. I quickly run into the remnant, peeking intot he treasure room. I squint to see any sign of life. I suddenly hear laughter.
"Shut up! You're being too loud!"
"What's the point in being quiet? Someone already took care of the piglin brute here! We can have all the treasure!"
I see them. 2 humans. One is a pale female with orange hair and the other is a tanned male with brown hair.
"Hey!" I jump out, holding my daggers tightly by my sides.
Their attention quickly turns to me.
"What are you doing here?" I say in a calm tone.
"Woah. Who are you?!" The woman says as they draw their iron swords. Violence it is.
"It doesn't matter. Get out of here before I make you." I hiss.
"Steve we shouldn't-"
"Hah. It's two against one." The man says with a smirk.
They charge at me, the man yelling for some reason. I really don't wanna do this right now. I charge at the man, easily stepping back as he swings at me. Before the woman can get to me and before the man can swing again, I kick him in the stomach, sending him to the ground. He dropped his sword.
"STEVE!" She cries out as she backs up a bit.
The man coughs rapidly, gasping for air as I pick him back up by the collar of his shirt, aiming my dagger right at his throat. I glare at him, before turning, still holding him by the collar and facing the woman.
"D-don't kill him! Please!" She begs.
"I won't..." I slide him back over to her, putting my daggers back into their sheaths.
I just realized something. If they're in the Nether, that means there's a portal
"Take me to your portal."
"W-who are you?!" The woman says as she helps her friend up to his feet.
"I..." They need to trust me. "My name is Y/n." I put my dagger back into their sheaths. "I really didn't want to hurt you guys..." I sigh.
"Steve's an idiot! He's always looking to pick fights...we apologize..." It feels good talking with another person.
"This treasure belonged to someone special. But please, take what you need. I'm sure he won't notice..." I muster a small smile.
"Wow really? That's actually pretty nice of you..." The man chuckles nervously.
I nod as they go to get some treasure.
"I've been stuck in the Nether. I don't know how long I've been here..." My mind is clear.
"Damn...what did you have to eat??" He asks curiously.
I shrug. "Mushrooms. Just mushrooms..."
"Phew. That's a nightmare." The orange haired one wipes away the sweat on her forehead as she stands up and faces me with a small smile. "Well. We're gonna get you outta here! And sorry for the fight, again."
"Yea, sorry!" The man says.
"I-it's okay..." I stand back up. "Follow me. I need to get some things."
I quickly run back to my netherite swords, grabbing them and holding them in my hands. They follow me, panting.
"Y-you're fast, huh?" The man says as he smiles aswell. "My name is Steve, and this is Alex."
I nod. "Lead the w-way..."
I followed them, feeling lightheaded as I realized I would finally return to my green world. They talked happily as we walked to their portal, and soon enough we were standing in front of it.
"Here we are! See ya on the other side!" They nod at me before jumping into the portal.
My breathing was shaky and shallow. Home. I'll be home. I close my eyes before leaping into the portal with my 2 swords. I gasp quietly as I feel the cool breeze against my skin. I open my eyes to see that it's night. The moon is so high. I tear up as I gaze at the stars and moon. I'm home... I drop to my knees, petting the soft grass as I cry happily.
"I-I'm home..." I fall flat onto the cool grass, hugging it tightly.
I looked around to see the back of a house.
"Thank you." I wipe my tears.
"It was nothing! But let's have you inside to rest. I'm sure you've been through a lot..." Alex says as she begins walking into her home, Steve and me following behind.
Their home looks to have 2 floors. It's a very cozy and warm atmosphere. Torches decorate the walls and so do some paintings. Steve quickly dashes up the stairs.
"Would you like new clothing?" She turns to look at me.
"Uh. Sure..." I look down at my exposed body.
"Steve? Could you get Y/n some new clothes?" She calls up the stairs.
"GOT IT!" He shouts back before he dashes down the stairs.
He hands me the clothing.
"You've got really impressive muscles! Hope those fit you!" He says in a friendly tone.
"Thanks..." I inspect the clothing.
The pants feel rough. Almost like cobblestone but more flexible and less solid.
"What are these pants made of?"
"Oh! They're made of mostly cotton! It's called denim!"
"Hm." I put the jeans on over the shorts I was wearing, dropping my swords on the ground.
The shirt is black with long sleeves. I put it on. It's comfortable.
"Lets sit down." They guide me to a soft and squishy thick chair.
I gently squeeze it before sitting down on it.
"It's called a sofa, by the way." Alex smiles.
They both sit at my sides.
"S-so I have some questions..." Steve chuckles nervously. "Who was your friend?"
My eyes widen.
"I-If it's too person you don't have to answer!" He reassures me.
"W-well. My friend was a piglin brute. He was left in the overworld on his own while I was stuck in the Nether...I'm not sure if he's alive..." I look into his eyes.
Their eyes show me pity and empathy. They look at eachother before nodding.
"W-well are you hungry?"
"No..."
"O-okay! Well in the morning I'll make breakfast and you can wash up. There's a lake nearby. If you need to use the bathroom you can go outside. And would you like to sleep on the sofa?" He says all of this very quickly.
"Yea. It's very comfortable..." I feel the soft fabric again, squishing the pads inside.
They both stand up with a huff as they look at eachother.
"Okay...well. Me and Steve will be upstairs." She smiles. "I'll bring you a pillow and a blanket." I nod.
She brings me the pillow and blanket with a yawn. She blows out all of the torches before sluggishly marching up the stairs. I prepare for bed. I feel tired. My swords are still at the back door. I'll go get them in the morning. I need sleep...
