School next day was as boring as always, maybe even more. All I could think about was the letter. Emmy was telling me I should call, but I just couldn't press call.
I spent lunchtime in the library with Zoe. (Alice was home, sick) I got two assigments done by the time the bell rang.
Whyatt, Emmy and I drove to pick up Jaden after school. Colin had football practice, dad and Carol had a dinner to attend. Which worked great for me. I wasn't going to tell dad yet. There might not be anything to tell.
We went by McDonalds and ordered food, then drove home. We decided to watch a movie as we ate. When I was about to endulge in my burger my phone started ringing. Unknown. I looked at the number and saw it was the number written in the letter. I panicked. I grabbed my phone and ran upstairs.
"I'll be right back." I said as I ran up.
I exhaled. I could answer and tell the person I called the wrong number. But surely that person would understand that the minute I hung up?
I pushed the answer button and held it to my ear. "Hello?" It came out more as a whisper.
"Hello!" The woman beamed. "This is Hailey." I swallowed. This was harder than I thought.
"H-hey." I facepalmed my self. Stutter? I decided to tell her my name. If she really was my mom she would reckognize my name, if she wasn't my mom, it wouldn't matter. "This is Avia." I swallowed.
Silence.
"A-Avia?"
I had no idea what to say. It had to be my mother. If not, it would be quite a coincidence.
"It's really you?" I could here her crying slightly in the background.
"Y-yeah."
"Oh my.."
Silence. Again.
"How are you?" She asked. She sounded genuine.
"Fine." I wasn't sure why I talked to her. I should be angry for her leaving me and dad. And it was also because my mind couldn't hold around the fact that my mother was alive. Not dead.
"You probably have a lot of questions!?" I sighed. Yes I had, but where would I start? Why did you leave? Why haven't you called, visited us? And why did you pretend to be dead? I sighed again.
"Yes."
"Maybe I can call you or you me tomorrow and we can talk?" She sounded hopeful.
"Sure. Maybe. I'll call you." I hung up without waiting for an answer.

2.56 am. I had been laying in bed since after dinner. Emmy was suspicious of my behavior, but I told her I had to get a ton of homework done, so she left me alone. I couldn't think about anything else than that call with my so called mother.

I woke up, not sure if I felt like school, but decided that I probably should go. I drove with Emmy and Whyatt (Colin had gone for some footbal meating since a big game was coming up) to school and I was actually starting to feel better. I hadn't told Emmy about the call, and I wasn't planning on telling her yet.
We arrived at school and I was met by Zoe and Alice half arguing, half laughing.
"No, if you do that, he will hate you even more!" Alice said, then smiled at me.
"I will do it!"
I looked at them with a questionable look on my face.
Alice laughed. "Her brother is dating a girl Zoe doesn't like."
"She is so mean!" Zoe crossed her arms infront of her chest and pouted. I laughed with them as we walked inside the school and to our lockers.

The first half of the day went by quite quickly, at least until lunch, but after lunch we were asked to come to the footbal stadium to watch a practice game. Which I gladly said yes (not that I had any choice.) to.
"I heard the time from Estate High School is better then they have been the last couple of years." Alice said as we sat down, ready to watch the practice game.
"Their quarterback is new." Zoe added.
"Are we better or worse?" I asked. When I lived with my dad in my previous town, Colin always talked about a game they won. How he spoke about the team, they sounded good.
"I don't know. Estate high have a lot of good players now." Zoe said.
"And a new coach." A voice added. Emmy.
"Hey!" I said. She grinned and hugged me side ways.
"Are they good?" I pointed at the field.
Emmy nodded. "Yes. Colin said they would win so.." She trailed off and chuckled.
*****
The game went by great. Both teams was good, so the game with Estate high would hopefully be a win for us.
Everyone was allowed to go home after the game, although I had to go to the town library because I had a paper due the next day.
Emmy and Whyatt dropped me off at the library, then drove home.
I had always hated the library in Riverbank. It was huge and hard to find a book. And yes, I could probably have asked the librarian, but he was creepy and weird, so I used time on searching each shelf.
I saw the history isle and looked through the book. I needed a book about The French Revolution. I found a book, and grabbed it, but before I could grab it, another person had it.
"Hey! I was taking that one!" I whisper yelled at the person.
"I need it to." Aiden. Of course. He was wearing a t shirt that showed his toned body and... Avia! Keep it together. He is annoying, not hot.
"Can I please have it back idiot?" I asked and faked a smile.
"I'm the opposite of idiot." He held the book to me, but as I grabbed it he pulled it back and laughed.
"Keep telling yourself that." I said, slightly annoyed, slightly not caring about the book. I found that I enjoyed talking to Aiden. He probably didn't give a care about me, but it didn't matter. Sarcasm.
"I will!" He grinned.
I crossed my arms and looked at him.
"Look, I will give it back if you can do me a favor." He smiled.
"What do you want?"
"A date."
"What?" I asked dumbstruck. I did not picture him as a date guy. My heart was racing, and I wasn't sure why. "A date?"
"Well, I don't want to, but my family is going to this thing and I have to bring a date.." He said tapping his fingers on the book like he was nervous.
"Need a date? More like you want me to be your date because I am awesome!" I said sarcastically.
"Ha ha ha."
"Fine." I simply said.
"Seriously?"
"Why not?" I grinned, took the book and started reading it. He then said thank you, goodbye and left.
As he left I looked at him and started thinking. When was this thing? I hadn't even asked him any questions about it, like when, where and what should I wear? I mentally hit my self for getting frozen by his looks. But spare me, he was hot.
