CHAPTER 11

DRISHIKA POV

Staying up late and not having a proper meal at least once a day has become very usual for me which is definitely affecting my health but hey!Who gives a flying fuck about it? me? Catch the sarcasm.

Just with the same silence around me here I was again on my balcony with no one around me but the thing that annoyed me was the sky that was so dark that not even a single star could be seen.

The only thing that had occupied my mind for the last few days was Trisha's advice about talking with Divyam. It is really important to clear things out with him. I can't avoid him forever. Today or tomorrow the things will come out. The only thing lacking here was courage. I couldn't muster up the courage to take this initiative.

My phone's ring brought me out of my trance indicating there was a call. I checked the time on my wristwatch. It showed 2.45 a.m.

Who is calling so late? I thought to myself and checked the caller id which showed unknown.

I thought about whether to answer it or not but decided to pick it up anyways because it could be something important.

"hello?" there was silence for some seconds from the other side so I thought to end it thinking someone is maybe just messing with me but soon heard a very very familiar sound.

"Hi, Drishika. How are you?" his heavy voice sounded weak for a moment until he covered it up.

"Divyam?"I asked nervously

"yes it's me"

"Why did you call so late?" I asked playing confuse.

"you didn't call me so I only had to call you. I thought you would have been sleeping but gave it a try to see if you would answer it or not.I guess I am not the only one who's awake." he said while laughing a little.

"Well, I—uhh I... I was just completing some of the leftover assignments that's why I awake. I was just going to sleep when you called." I lied with the first excuse that came to my mind.

"no need to lie Drishika I know it's because of me. I know I have messed up and this time the one who was always there to help me clean my mess isn't there because I messed up with her" Guilt was clearly evident in his voice.

I kept silent as I didn't know what to say so he broke the silence.

"Drishika?"

"mhm?"

"I am sorry. Sorry for everything."

I closed my eyes and took a long breath. I didn't want this. I didn't want him to apologize like the nice guy he was. I wanted him to maintain his selfish image in my mind by not saying sorry to me but guess what? Who melted again? This dumb head me right here.
