my heart pounded against my chest as I felt my legs give out as I ran into the hospital. I went to the desk, but heard a fairly familiar loud scream.
I walked around the corner and saw Promise on the ground crying, I looked to the ceiling and said a quiet prayer.
"Come on promise, get up" I told her grabbing her hand "what's going on?"
"He don't wanna see anyone...he's paralyzed from the waist down" She cried more "he's sad about football"
I frowned, "what's his room number?"
"Did you not hear me?" She tilted her head "he DONT wanna see anyone"
"What's his room number?" I asked her again
"14" she said
walking down the hallway, I found his room number and walked in. I furrowed my eyebrows as he mugged me.
I walked over and slapped him upside his head, "are you fucking dumb? first of all if you knew someone was following you, why would you go to their house? anything can happen to them now they have to watch their backs at their own home. and you being a asshole talking about you don't wanna see anyone, as if you got here by yourself. as if you didn't get a second chance at life. okay, so what you're paralyzed? You are alive ... some people would kill for that much. I hate how selfish you can be."
"You calling my selfish while I'm in the hospital bed, paralyzed you chewing me out" he waved me off "let yourself out"
I furrowed my eyebrows, "you can't fault nobody for that .. but you"
"or maybe promise boyfriend, your boyfriend, and their friend group. They were about to kill me for a crime I didn't commit. Like killing hope." He said
opening my mouth to say something, I closed it again ... "you need to talk to your sister" I left.
I walked out the hospital room, and looked at promise "why didn't you tell me that they were trying to kill him because their sister is missing?"
She shrugged, "I didn't think it mattered"
Tally and kali both walked in and up to us. Kali had a irritated expression and Tally had a confused facial expression.
laughing. I scoffed "I'll catch up with y'all later"
"our cousin is in the hospital, fighting for his life and you're about to go lay up?" Tally asked me
"Tristan is fine ... he's just paralyzed from the waist down. He don't wanna see anyone, So I'm leaving." I told her
"You sound selfish as fuck right now" Tally responds
"girl what?" I asked "how?"
"Are you Magic Lawson?" A officer walked up to me interrupting us
"yes, yes I am" I said
"You're under arrest" he cuffed me
I furrowed my eyebrows. "If you don't get off of me. I don't feel like playing"
"Good thing, I'm not playing....right?" He started to walk me out
"Yo? what's going on?" Tally walked behind us "why are you arresting her?"
"why are you taking her?" Kali followed behind us "what did she do?"
"I can't catch a break" I heard promise running closely "I'll call bro"
"I love y'all" I smiled waving at them ..
August stepped out of his truck, and I shook my head at him and he turned his back to me. When I got placed in the car, he started to drive and I smiled a small smile seeing August truck pull out behind the police car.
