I sat in class twirling my pencil, when it all of a sudden dawned on me that I hadn't talked to August today. I was so confused because he left before I woke up this morning.
"good morning" our always late ass professor came in "so the last lil bit of notes are on the board, as y'all know ... our semester is about to come to a close end in a few weeks. I would have to admit ... y'all are my favorite people"
"I bet we are" Jayla spoke up from beside me "stop playing so much"
"Jayla, shut yo face" he told her
Jayla giggled a little and then looked over at me, "Ima miss you, so much"
I smiled at her, "Ima miss you too jayjay"
We reached over and hugged, Jayla was somebody I would call my friend. She was so sweet man. and had made a big impact on my college life. We were almost done though.
"But, we can always hangout" she said with a pout "I would say double dates, but my boyfriend hate the world"
I laughed, "no because mine too"
She giggled, "he'll try before he just say no to me though"
"I'll ask him and see, 9/10 he'll say "I'll see" which means yes" I told her, we both laughed
"We know our men so well" we laughed
my phone started ringing like crazy, causing everyone to look back at me. Then, it started to ring, it was a unfamiliar number.
I gave it to Jayla, and she put it on speaker after answering... "Magicccc !" promise was screaming and crying
"What? Calm down, what's wrong?" I asked her
"A - AUG - AUGUSTANDACE" she started to go into a choking coma
"Promise, breathe ... what's wrong with August and Ace?" I started to tear up as I put all my stuff in my backpack "Breathe..."
"THEYWERESHOTTT!" She screamed and I felt my heart drop
"WHERE ARE YOU?" I started to scream as I started to drop stuff and just grabbed my keys and started to run out the door
"MAGIC, WAIT!" Jayla stood up "wait, let me drive you ! You don't need to be driving"
"THEN HURRY!" I screamed running down the hallway "WHERE ARE YOU?"
"I'M LEAVING HOMEEE" she cried out "go to ST.MARYS"
"you don't need to be driving" Jayla said into the phone, "pullover and go back home, I'm on my way to get you"
"Who are you?" Promise screamed but a bit calmer
"I'm jayla, I go to school with Magic" she told her
"Just listen to her" I told her
After she picked up promise, I started to feel like we was driving forever. and, she wasn't taking us to the hospital.
