Danielle POV

"Sweetheart you can let go of that breath you know," I said softly to Nova once everyone else had left the room.

Nova's eyes remained fixed on the door that had just closed, she had with no doubt seen the dirty look thrown in her direction by Jemma as she left.

The young girl shook her head slightly.

"Ignore her Nova, she's gone now," I said, referring to the bitchiest fan I'd ever met.

"Y-yeah, she's gone," Nova said, more to herself than to me.

"She's gone," she repeated, still trying to reassure herself.

"Come sit bubs," I smiled, holding out my hand for her.

Seeing her so anxious, I expected her hand to be warm and clammy. Instead, it was ice cold and felt small. Guiding her back over to the chairs, my hand felt almost like a protective shield around hers.

She sat down and I moved the chair next to her a little closer before sitting myself down. Her legs began bouncing just as they had earlier when Jemma had told her to stop.

"Breathe sweetheart," I said softly, my voice just louder than a whisper.

Hoping I wasn't stepping over a boundary, I reached out to rest my hand on her knee. At the contact, she lifted her gaze to meet mine.

"I'm sorry," she said apologetically.

"Hey no it's okay, I just want to help," I assured her, not wanting her to think I meant the same as Jemma had.

"Sweetheart you're breathing really quickly," I said with a hint of concern in my voice.

"Can I try something with you?" I asked her gently, needing her to calm down.

"W-what?" She stuttered nervously.

"Nova do you trust me?" I asked, despite knowing that she'd only just met me.

Her beautiful, big, emerald eyes locked with mine. The poor girl looked so lost. It felt like her eyes were reading me, trying to work out an answer to my question. Eventually, she gave me a little nod.

"You're safe," she said quietly.

I smiled at her and gently squeezed her knee, glad she felt secure around me. I turned my chair a little more, moving so Nova and I were directly facing each other, our knees only a few inches apart.

"I want you to copy me okay sunshine?" I instructed, noticing how tense she looked.

She gave me a nod.

"Okay sit yourself up straight," I told her, doing exactly the same thing so she could just copy.

She did as I said, her focus on me completely.

"Okay I want you to gently tap your fingers on your collar bone, like this," I said, beginning tapping on my own collar bone.

Slowly, and with a little confused frown, she lifted her arms.

"Good girl," I smiled softly, watching her mimic my actions.

"Add a tiny bit more pressure," I said, seeing that she was tapping a little too lightly.

"Good sweetheart," I praised.

I watched as the more she tapped on her collar bone, the less tension she held in her body. Her shoulders dropped a little and I could see her breath and moved down from her chest slightly. I saw her stomach moving with each inhale.

"Keep tapping Nova, keep breathing deeply, you've got this," I encouraged.

"While you're tapping, I want you to picture what it is exactly that's causing this anxiety,"
