“I can’t believe I let you all talk me into this…” Darius Wilson complained from behind Trent. “We don’t even know who these guys are or if they’re actually legit!”
“That’s why we’re doing this! We’re gonna see if these guys are the real deal or if they’re full of shit like every other wannabe badass that claims to know something about the aliens!” Conner explained, twisting around in the passenger seat to look back at his companion, his excited smile reaching his wide eyes.
Owen Zhao scrunched his face in confusion, “Aliens?” he repeated skeptically.
Conner nodded, “Yeah…aliens…that’s what people are saying after that incident in Paris. They said that’s what all those meteor things falling from the sky were!”
“I thought the final verdict was that it was meteors, or at the very least, broken parts of a satellite.” Santiago input.
“That’s what the man wants you to think…” Conner sang with a smirk. He turned around to glance around the arranged meeting place, searching for any sign of a shady looking SUV. “I think this is the real deal.” He bounced in his seat a bit.
Trent scoffed at his friend’s enthusiasm before a dark, heavily tinted vehicle entered the empty parking lot. The driver flicked their headlights twice before going dark. Trent did the same before addressing his companions, “That’s our cue. I guess we’ll find out who they are soon enough.” He announced before turning off his truck and hopping out of his seat.
Darius groaned as he followed the rest of the boys’ lead, “This is probably some human trafficking trap…making us come all the way out here to the most remoted, sketchy ass, part of town…” he grumbled as they all met up with the two men they had met only a couple of days prior.
Just as last time, Agents Attinger and Savoy stood side by side; the former bearing the smallest of smirks as they awaited the five young men.
“Good Afternoon, gentlemen! I can’t emphasize how pleased I am that you all decided to take us up on our offer!” Agent Attinger greeted.
“Well…some of us here to make sure no one goes missing.” Darius admitted with crossed arms. He tensed his biceps, making the muscles bulge in warning.
Agent Savoy scoffed at the ‘kid’s’ attempt of intimidation, while Attinger gave a chuckle, “Oh, don’t worry Mr. Wilson. This isn’t some elaborate scheme to kidnap or dispose of you all. This is just a bit of an…eye opener, if you will.”
“But why us? Why not just come out to the public about what’s really happening?” Owen pressed, just as cautious as Darius.
“Because the public’s not ready to handle the truth yet.” Agent Savoy spoke up for the first time.
“As for why we’re confiding in you five, it’s as I said last time we met. We’ve been watching you, and Mr. DeMarco has connections to a young woman that’s involved with it all.” Attinger added with a nod in Trent’s direction.
Trent shook his head, “If that is true, I don’t see how she got caught up in…whatever the hell it is we’re talking about…” He glanced at Darius, who nodded in full agreement.
“All will be explained in time. But before we do that, I need to know that you five are positive you’re up for this…What you all will see and learn today is above top secret, and there’s no going back once you know what we know.” Attinger looked at each of the boys, his tone serious as he mentally evaluated the group before him.
