When Gai had asked Kakashi to be his best man at his wedding, you hadn't thought much of it. It was obvious the role Kakashi would have in his wedding, them being best friends and all, despite Kakashi never wanting to admit to that fact. So as soon the news of the engagement got around to the both of you by way of a very enthusiastic Gai yelling about love and youth, you both knew what question would be coming out of the over excited man.

What also didn't surprise you was the lack of formal wear the man you loved owned. There wasn't a suit or tie to be seen anywhere in his entire apartment and the nicest pair of shoes he owned was his newest pair of ninja sandals. You were going through his closet for the last time, trying to find a somewhat decent outfit for Kakashi to wear when he came in through the front door.

You looked up at him, almost every piece of clothing he owned lain out around you as you welcomed him home. "Hey Kakashi! You're home early..."

Kakashi looked around his messy apartment with wide eyes, not entirely sure why his entire wardrobe was strewn about around you and, frankly, he wasn't sure he wanted to find out. He walked over closer to you and found his way blocked by clothes, absolutely no way through them to be found, at least for him who was covered in dirt and a little blood. So instead you got up and made your way to him, stepping on a shirt or two on the way.

"So what is all this about?" He asked as he lightly kissed your cheek.

"Well... I was trying to find your suit for Gai's wedding and then I realized that you don't have one. I had to go through every piece of clothing you owned, just to be disappointed... How have you gone so long without the need of a single tie?" You asked, mostly to yourself.

Kakashi watched as you stood in the middle of all his clothes, your hand on your chin as you shook your head slightly at him. His eyes softened at the sight of you and you finally turned back to look at him, tilting your head to the side and dropping your hand.

"What?"

"You. You are just adorable. If I weren't covered in blood I would hug you right now," he said as he continued to stare.

"Well you know the rules," You said as you started to pick up the fabric from the floor and fold it, even though it hadn't been folded when you had taken it out of his drawers in the first place.

"Ma, can't I just give you-"

"No! Shower first, then cuddles. I'm not getting blood all over the sheets or me. I have to deal with that enough on my own without you helping."

"Bossed around, in my own apartment. What has the village come to?" he said as he stripped down, making his way to the bathroom.

"Ha ha, it's a small price to pay for cuddles. And dinners that aren't out of a box." You laughed.

You heard the shower turn on and continued to pick up and put away the clothes that you had thrown about the floor. Only a few minutes after you had closed all the drawers and gotten comfy in bed did you hear the water shut off from the bathroom.

Kakashi came out from the shower in a pair of grey sweatpants and his undershirt with his attached mask. It was the outfit you had grown so used to, as even when the two of you were alone he never seemed to be without his mask, save for... special times. You doubted he took it off even when he was all alone. He crawled into bed next to you and leaned up against the headboard as you wrapped your arms around his waist, laying your head against him.

You felt one of his hands run over your head and heard the other grab the book off of the bedside table. The sound of Kakashi flipping through his pages slowly lulled you towards sleep, but one last thought popped up into your mind before you finally gave in.
