Jealousy, Jealousy

Kakashi knew that you loved him. There was no denying that fact. He thought that there was absolutely nothing, nothing in the world that would ever come between the two of you.

That was until he introduced you to them.

As soon as you saw them, Kakashi knew he had messed up. There was no denying that there was a look in your eye of absolute love and adoration as soon as you laid your eyes on the multitude of dogs that littered Kakashi's home. He knew there was no coming back from this and the jealousy and hatred that continued to pour through his veins was worsening with every moment he watched you with them.

"Who's a good boy?" You asked Bull while scratching behind his ears, the one spot that he absolutely loved being pet. "You are! You're a good boy!"

"He's not a good boy (Name), he's a murderer," Kakashi said as he rolled his eyes, trying to hint at the nature of his ninken and get you to leave them alone to give him some much needed attention after his long mission.

Though he would never ask for that out loud.

You smiled at Kakashi and then back at Bull. "Who's my good little murderer?"

Before he knew it, Kakashi watched as another of his dogs came over and sat in front of you. It was one of two floppy-eared dogs that Kakashi had in his home.

"Oh Biscuit, not you too?"

"Your name is Biscuit? That is adorable, Kakashi." You reached out for the new dog and flapped his ears up and down like you were trying to make him take off flying. "Aren't you just adorable!"

Kakashi was certain that you were going to have to give every single one of his dogs your undivided attention before you even remembered that he was there. You were only through three of them at the moment, and Kakashi sat on the couch behind you, giving a loud sigh that you either didn't hear or decided to ignore.

"Oh my, two more? There are just so many of you, how am I going to give all of you my love?"

Kakashi was irked at your comment, wanting you to leave the dogs and spend time with him, but here you were planning on petting every single one. Why did he have so many dogs? And why were they all here at the moment and not in whatever little pocket of space they usually spent their free time in? Kakashi could only think of one explanation.

They knew you were coming over and now they were trying to steal his girlfriend. And it seemed they were succeeding.

His attention was turned back to you when he heard a plopping sound and he saw Uhei on his back, his belly exposed for rubs. He never did that when Kakashi tried to pet him! He watched as you showered love onto the bandaged boy and, despite his jealousy, he couldn't help but love seeing the smile that was across your face.

"(Name), I think you've given them enough attention. They're never going to leave you alone if they get too used to-"

He was interrupted by Guruko deciding it was his turn for love and jumping onto you, forcing you onto your back with Guruko sitting on the empty space on your stomach. The rest of the dogs took the opportunity to crowd around you and sit either on your legs or your stomach. Pakkun decided to get in on the action, Kakashi thinking it was only because Pakkun could see how annoyed he was with the lack of affection from you, and laid across your neck.

"Sorry Kashi, but I don't think they're going to let me go anywhere." You laughed at your predicament and Kakashi allowed a small smile to cross his lips. He was happy that they enjoyed you and that you were having fun with them. What he wasn't happy about was that it was all happening at a time when he was craving your touch.

"That's it." Kakashi waved a single hand sign and all of the dogs, including Pakkun, who usually found himself staying even when the others where gone, disappeared.

He watched as you lifted your head slightly to look around the room trying to find signs of the ninken, not expecting Kakashi to have sent them away so suddenly. He reached down and lifted you into his arms and started to walk.

"Kashi, were you jealous?" You asked jokingly, running your hands through his soft hair.

His only response was to hold you closer to him, keeping his eyes focused on the door to the bedroom. He felt your hands continue through his hair and resisted the urge to lean into them as you did so. He just had to make it to the bed and then he could cuddle and kiss you as much as he wanted.

He made it through the door and laid you down on the bed before removing his jacket and tossing it on the dresser. He would put it away later, but right now it didn't matter at all. He crawled into the bed and laid on top of you. You put up no resistance and let him get comfy, knowing he needed this as much as you wanted it. He tightened his hold and set his face in your neck, tickling you with his light breaths.

"Feeling a little needy today?" You asked, running circles along his back.

"No." He said before leaving a light kiss at the base of your neck.

"Yes, you are. And you were totally jealous of your Ninken."

"I have no idea what you're talking about. What Ninken?" He joked.

"Well, I guess to make up for the lack of attention, we're going to have to stay here and cuddle for as long as you want," You said to him.

There was no response and you looked down at Kakashi's face, his eyes closed and his breaths slow and deep, a sign that he was asleep. You smiled at his sleeping form, having missed this just as much as he had while he had been away. You slowly fell asleep yourself with the calming presence of Kakashi finally there with you again.
