Episode 10

The girls took Jay and Remi for a chat, wanting to get to know them while the boys went to the couches to stress discreetly.

As Luca was walking to get a drink he overheard a certain comment that stuck with him.

He got back to the boys and said, "Lad, he's just told Ekin he's not here for seasonal boyfriends"

The boys fell silent but they all knew what was happening.

They started walking over. Alex started to walk to Ekin but when he sat down she wasn't interested, only focusing on one person. Jay.

After a very awkward yet funny performance from Remi, it was time to talk to Jay.

"So what about you then big boy?" Asked Jacques.

"I work in finances, investment analyst. Yeah, what do you do?"

"I play rugby lad."

"A bit small for a rugby player no?"

Alex was shocked and caught in between laughing and being annoyed for his friend. The others laughed.

"Ey if you proper run at me I'll, I'll flatten you so"

The guys went off again and the girls huddled.

Ekin pitched in, "It's just getting boring with him being the same all the time, like he hasn't shown me there's any other side of him." She started, "no ones official in here no ones married, we can all get to know them okay? Even you" She said to Gemma.

After a while the islanders headed to bed.

Waking up, Alex felt cold before realising Ekin had moved away. He frowned but waved it off, not wanting to assume, maybe she got too hot.

He got up and left a quick note saying he was in the gym.

He walked outside and started working out.

While he was working out, the girls were talking on the terrace.

"So how are you and Alex, Ekin?" Asked Gemma, watching the man work out.

Ekin sighed and said "I mean he's just a bit too perfect,"

Gemma pulled a face, confused seeing as Alex seemed like her perfect partner despite her being with Luca.

"Like, I don't know. He-"

Alex opened the door with pancakes and orange juice in his hands.

"For you" he said before kissing her forehead and leaving.

"Ye as I was saying, he's just not hitting something y'know?"

Gemma shook her head. He deserves better. I could treat him better.

Alex went back to working out but thos time he was joined by Jay and Davide.

Part way through, Jay got a text. He and Remi were to pick 3 girls each to cook for them.

Alex saw Ekin's face light up at the idea, causing him to doubt her feelings slightly. She seemed eager, maybe too eager.

While the other girls were preparing for their dates, Gemma decided to talk to Alex.

"So how are you and Luca?" He asked, taking a sip from his water bottle.

"Yeah it's good I mean I do think we get along and it would take quite a bit to turn my head but I'm not closed off I don't think."

"Oh really? Why's that?"

"I just don't really like how he treats things I guess, like I do prefer more mature guys." She looked into his eyes with lips slightly parted, leaning into him very subtly.

"Is there someone else you're eyeing then?" He asked.

"Well I would say out of everyone here I'm definitely attracted to you and like your personality like you're definitely my type."

It wasn't long after Gemma joined him the dates started.

"So how are you feeling about Ekin's behaviour right now?" Asked Gemma, taking a sip of her bottle.

"I mean it's a bit shit isn't it? I mean one minute we're doing amazing, the next she's uninterested and wants someone else." He took a glance at hos partner waddling over to her date with a plate, smiling giddily at Jay.

When she reaches him she gives him kisses on the cheeks and a quick hug before they sit down for the date.

Soon after the date began, Jay and Ekin started recreating the lady and the tramp spaghetti scene.

"Oh for fuck sake man" Alex laughed, trying not to show how angry he really is.

Gemma looked up at him sympathetically before saying,

"Don't worry babes, he's got nothing on you."

He looked down with a smile and small blush.

"Just focus on me for now."

Ekin laughed at Jay before taking a quick look around for Alex, only to see him sat laughing with Gemma. Her smile faltered, 'what the hell is he doing?' She thought before turning back to her date.

Sorry I haven't been as active, I'm trying to balance quite a few things and because this is based off an actual show I can't just write, I have to find time to re-watch episodes so the chapters are still accurate despite the changes I've made for the sake of this book.
