The islanders walked back to the seating area after the challenge, though it wasn't long until a phone chimed. Alex's phone.

Alex, wondering how your partner is doing?

Linked under the text was a video of Gemma talking to Paige, most likely about one of the new guys.

"He is fit-"

"That's my ex..."

"I just want him back"

Alex froze and took a few deep breaths before putting his phone back on the couch next to him.

"Mate it's probably nothing."

Alex side-eyed Andrew before he replied with a hum and stood to go to the kitchen.

Alex sat on his and Gemma's bed playing with one of his rings when he noticed one of Gemma's on the side, sliding it onto his own pinky finger, "for luck"

The evening came quickly and so too did the recoupling as the host walked in with a smile. The girls had already chosen so the boys were to decide to stick or recouple.

Alex was nervous, especially considering the video he'd seen earlier that day but he hoped there was a good explanation and that Gemma was still his girl.

"Hey guys, how's everyone doing?"

She received a few 'good' s and 'alright' s, though Alexs' 'bit shit' slipped mostly under the radar to most except Davide next to him who snickered and teased his friend for being "whippud" which he still struggled to say and cheered his friend up a little bit.

"So, are you ready to recouple?" Before anyone could respond, she called out the first name.

"Davide, would you like to join me over here."

"Finally, Alex, could you join me at the front please." Laura asked with a smile.

Alex stood nervously while rubbing his thighs to help him relax before approaching Laura.

"So, how've you found casa?" She asked.

"I think I've met some lovely girls, but I can't wait to see my Gem again. It's been torture thinking about where her head's at and what she's been up to, but I trust her and our connection."

"Aw so sweet." The host cooed before carrying on to the big question. "So Alex, will you stay with Gemma? Or recouple?"

"I just want my Gem back please."

The girls exchanged looks before turning their attention to the sound of footsteps, making their way into view.

Gemma turned the corner with a smile and wiped a small tear away as she saw Alex at the front...Alone.

Alex was ecstatic and feeling more emotional than he thought he would but he knew at that moment that he had found a girl who was worth it.
