"Yo-ho-ho!" Jay came inside with Shawn wearing their new Tourney jerseys. Carlos whistled and I smiled at them both happily. "Congrats boys," I said and Shawn ruffled my hair. Gizmo had his head on my lap and I was doing my homework. "Did your plan work out with Jane? Are you going over to see the wand?" Jay asked Mal and I looked at them confused. "Plan? With the wand? Did I miss something?" I asked. "No, you didn't. Also, do you think that I would be going through every single spell in this book if I hadn't completely struck out?" Mal said, looking at Jay. "Oh, someone's in a bad mood," Carlos said and I flicked the back of his head. "Her mom's counting on her. Technically, she can't let her down." I told him and went back to writing. "We can do this! If we stick together." Jay said and we all stared at him. "And we won't go back until we do. Cause we are rotten...." We cut Mal off. "To the core." We all said in unison.

"Oh yeah. I found out that Fairy Godmother blessed Ben with the wand at his coronation and we all get to go. I have nothing to wear, of course." Evie said and we stared. The door was then knocked on and Mal got up. "What?" She said. "Hold that thought," I said and Mal walked towards the door before opening it. We then saw Ben and he was smiling. "Hey, Mal. I didn't see any of you guys today. I was just wondering If you had any questions or anything... That... you needed..." He trailed off. "Not that I know of," Mal said and we shook our heads. Ben looked in the room and saw me. I waved feebly and went back to writing my paper. "Okay. All right. Well, uh, If you need anything, just, uh..." Ben was about to walk away but Mal spoke up. "Oh wait! Um, is it true that we all get to go to your coronation?" She asked him. "Yeah, the whole school goes," Ben said and Mal smiled sarcastically. "Wow. That is beyond exciting. Do you think that It's a possibility that the four of us could stand in the front row next to the Fairy Godmother, just so we could soak up all that goodness?" She asked him and he sighed. "I wish you could. Up front, It's just me, my folks, and my girlfriend." He said and Mal raised an eyebrow. "And your girlfriend?" Mal asked. "Yeah, I'm sorry." She chuckled and started shutting the door.

"Okay. Thanks, bye." Mal shut the door in his face. "I think it's time that Bennyboo got himself a new girlfriend. And Kaylin needs a love spell." The others looked at me and I looked up, confused.

A Few Hours Later

"All right. It says that we still need one tear, and I never cry." Mal said, mixing the cookie dough. "Let's just chop up some onions." Carlos said, sitting on the counter top. "No. It says that we need one tear of human sadness. And this love potion gets the best so we have to follow it exactly." Mal said and I was sketching in my sketchbook. "A tears' a tear." Jay said and I sighed. "That's not true, Jay." Evie said before I cut her off. "They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear." I said and Evie stared at me before looking back at the dough. "Listen to my little sister." Shawn hit my shoulder and I grabbed it. "I'm much more smaller than you, can you not?" I grabbed my shoulder and he held up his arms. "Jeez, sorry." He scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, I knew that." Jay said and Carlos glared. "Did not." Carlos said and I sighed. "Yeah, I did." Jay told him. "There you are, Kaylin and Yareli. I was looking for you both! You know, all the girls want you to do their hair and nails! Midnight snack, huh? What you guys making?" Lonnie, daughter of Mulan, said.

"Nothing special, just cookies. Oh, no, no!" I said and Lonnie dipped her finger into the cookie dough before eating it. "Wait, wait, wait!" Carlos said and she stared at us. "What? I'm not going to double dip." She said, confused. "Feel anything?" Evie asked her. "Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal said. "Hey there." Jay said, trying to flirt with her. "It could use some chips." Lonnie said, going over to the refrigerator. We all sighed in relief. "And those are?" Mal wondered. "Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group. Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and... why are you all looking at me like that?" Lonnie said and we sighed. "It's just different where we're from. Kaylin and Shawn's father was the only one who really cared about them both..." Mal said and I leaned against my brother. Shawn wrapped his arm around my shoulder, Gizmo whimpered, and I petted the top of Gizmo's head. "Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought... Even villains love their kids. Oh... How awful." Lonnie put her hand on top of Mal's and let out a tear. Mal snatched it, put it into the dough before Evie started mixing it.

"Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams." Mal waved and Lonnie left. "Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, Yareli, oven. Twins, just stay here." She told them and they walked over to the oven. "We are lucky, aren't we?" I asked. "Yes, we definitely are."
