Chapter 13. The Love Confession

"Okay Okay!" The crowd cheered as the game started. "This is a nail-biter, folks. There are 47 seconds left on the clock. We're all tied up. The Sherwood falcons, two. The fighting knights, two. What a game between Auradon's fiercest rivals." The announcer said and Chad got ready to run out. "Get em' Chad!" Jay told him and Chad patted his shoulder before running out. "Akiho!" The Coach yelled and I had my earplugs in to block out some of the noises. "The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone. The dragons have been laying down a withering hail of fire." The announcer watched. "You're up," Coach told Jay and Jay shook his head before pulling Carlos up with him. "Coach, how about my buddy here?" Jay asked and Carlos shook his head sitting back down. Jay pulled him back up. "Oh, no. Not so sure about that." The coach said and Jay sighed. "Coach, he's been practicing. And you said yourself a team is made up of a bunch of parts. Well, he's kind of like my brain." Jay told Coach and he turned towards the field. "Come here!" He yelled and the other teammate rushed over. "You heard him! Get out there!" Yareli and Evie cheered loudly and I grimaced. "Don't worry, bro. I got your back!" Jay told Carlos. "How about my front?" Carlos said and Jay pushed him.

"He's bringing that hothead Jay in from the Isle of the Lost and that little guy Carlos can barely hold a shield." The announcer said and they rushed over. "Break!" The team yelled and got ready. "When they break from their huddles, this is going to be a big moment here. And the tipoff is ready. Here we go. The long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. Nice little block by Carlos. He does a little dancing jig in his opponent's face. And now Jay gets the ball back. Here comes Jay! Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field." The announcer said, watching as Jay passes the ball to Ben. "I'm open!" Shawn yelled, rushing towards his teammate. "Jay makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the kill zone. Prince Ben passes it to Shawn who passes it over to Jay who passes it back over to Prince Ben. Big block by Chad! Prince Ben moves over wide and gives it back to Jay. He's in the clear! Shot! Oh, what a save by Philip, the Falcon's goalkeeper!" Our crowd groans while the other one cheers. "Come on, guys! Come on, hustle, hustle!" Coach yelled. "LET'S GO, BOYS!! COME ON!!!" I yelled, cupping my hands over my mouth before starting to bite my nails. 

"23 seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword. The long ball is played into Jay. Jay, great jump, great leap. And a great move by Jay. A big block from Chad. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. And then Carlos with a big block goes down. Shawn and Jay through the kill zone pick up Carlos. Oh, he's being hammered by dragon fire. Still, going on. Jay and Shawn, hurdling maneuver at mid-field. He's in the clear. The ball goes back to Jay." The announcer says. "COME ON!!" I yelled and looked around. "Hey, Jay!" Carlos yelled. "Carlos?" Jay asked. He hits the ball up and ducks down. "Go up! Ben!" Jay jumps over and passes to Ben WHO SCORES! LET'S GO! He passes to prince Ben. He scores! Prince Ben has won it! What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Jay and Carlos, who set up the prince for the win here. What a victory! A wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come, folks. The winners of the first tourn..." The announcer gets cut off by Ben grabbing the microphone. Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please? There's something I'd like to say. Give me a 'K'!" He does a K with his body. "K!" The crowd announces doing the same. "Give me an 'A'!" Ben yelled, he kept going until he spelled my name. I covered my mouth and started blushing. "What does that spell?" Ben asked. "Kaylin!" The crowd yelled and I covered my face in amusement and embarrassment. "Come on, I can't hear you!" They yelled my name again before he spoke up.

"I love you, Kaylin. Did I mention that?" He said to me and I smiled as Yareli wrapped her arms around me. "Give me a beat!" He yelled towards Doug. "Uno, dos, tres, quatro!" Doug yelled and some music starts playing. Ben starts dancing and singing about his love for me during the song. He also throws his tourney shirt which I catch and hug to my chest. Toward the end, he gets thrown into the crowd and comes toward me. He tries to kiss me but I cover myself with his shirt. He wraps his arm around me and I blushed heavily. "I love you, Kaylin. Did I mention that?" I nodded and smiled. "Kaylin, will you go to the coronation with me?" Ben asked me and I grabbed the mic. "Yes!" I yelled. "She said yes!" Everyone cheered and he looked at me before following Shawn. "What a victory. What a day for the Auradon knights, finally winning back the trophy after so many years. And there he is. Jay is the most valuable player. How do you like that?" The announcer yelled and we all cheered.

After the game, I grabbed my items before heading down the bleachers. Ben held out his hand and linked his arm with mine. "Uh, what are you doing?" I asked. "Taking my girlfriend with me to the after party for winning." He said and I nodded. We headed to the dorms to change before we headed to the after party. We hung out the whole night with us being in love. So amazing...
