Chapter 16. The End of The Storm

"Evie?! Mal?!" I heard Ben yell underneath my head. My face was a light purple, it felt like there was no air inside of my body, and my throat felt so dry like a desert. "Ben! Kaylin!" I heard the screaming get closer and I felt three people kneel by me. I then felt a bunch of furs go into my face and I opened my eyes to see Gizmo. "Gizmo? Is that you?" I croaked. "Here, take this," Mal said, putting the end of the inhaler against my lips. She pressed down and pulled it away as I let the inhaler stuff go into my lungs. "Again." She said and we did the same process. "Why are you guys here? What happened?" Ben asked them both, rubbing my back. "We noticed that Kaylin left without Gizmo and we were worried that something would've happened. I'm glad that we did come here, something would've happened if we weren't." Yareli said, Gizmo leaned down deciding to lay his head on my lap. "Hey, Kaylin," Ben said and I looked up at him. "Yes, Ben?" I asked. "I told you that I love you. What about you? Do you love me?" He asked me and I sighed, looking at his bare chest again. "I don't know what loves feels like, Ben." He gently grabbed underneath my chin and looked me in the eyes. "Maybe I could teach you?" He questioned and I smiled.

"I'd like that, Ben." I leaned back against him and he put his jacket over us. "We should probably head back to the dorms. We need to change out of these wet clothes before you get sick." Evie said and I nodded. "We should," I said, about to get up. "Ah, hold on," Ben said. He got up before walking away to get dressed. "How was the rest of your date?" Yareli asked and I sighed in happiness. "So wonderful, Y. I can't describe how magical it was," I said, giggling at the end. Ben was done getting ready and I stood up. He put his jacket on me before bending down. He wrapped his arm underneath my knees and around my back before standing up. "Eek!" I squeaked, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Sorry, should've warned you. Ready?" He asked and I nodded. I felt him start walking and leaned my head against his chest. Yareli held Gizmo's leash and walked close to us. We followed the other two girls to where the limousine was before getting inside. "Where're the boys?" I asked the girls. "They are hanging out with the rest of the Tourney team. They understood that you and Ben are on a date so they aren't going to bug you for the rest of the day." Evie explained. We started heading back to the dorms and I sat against Ben's lap. I leaned my head against his shoulder and I could feel him smiling.

We got back and Ben lifted me before bringing me upstairs. When we got to the room, Yareli opened the door and he sat me on the bed. "I'm going to go get changed into some dryer clothes then I'll be back." He said and I nodded. He then left the room and I sat up. Evie shut the door before the girls started grabbing some clothes. They helped me undress before changing me into some cleaner and dryer clothes. Ben came back a few minutes later and sat down next to me on the bed. "I thought you were going to be in your dorm," I said. I then watched as the girls left the room before shutting the door. Gizmo lay down on the side of the bed and started falling asleep. "Our date isn't over. I figured we could watch a movie." He said and I smiled. I laid my head against the side of his chest, he grabbed the blanket and pulled it over us. He then turned on the movie and for the rest of the night, we snuggled together. 

(BONUS) Mal's POV

A few hours later, I and the other two girls headed back to the dorm to check up on the couple. We opened the door to see Kaylin snuggled against Ben's chest and they were fast asleep. I put my finger over my lips and pointed to them both. We snuck inside, grabbed an overnight bag, and left the room. "Welp, time to sleep over in your room," Yareli said. "Last one there is a rotten apple!" I said and ran off towards my room with the other two laughing before chasing me. 

I'm hoping Kaylin doesn't get her heart broken by Ben. After all, he is under a spell...
