"I've always wanted to try this," Chris said excitedly as she looked around the room of the ax throwing place.

He saw the joy on her face, and he felt a sense of accomplishment to make her feel that way.

She looked over at him, noticed the way he was staring at her, and asked, "What?"

He quickly kissed both corners of her lips, only resulting in an even bigger smile from her, and he replied, "I love your smile."

Chris would have hated the sweetness and attention from anyone else, but she loved every second of it when it came from Street. Something about how genuine he was and the way her body reacted to him made it feel like the most natural thing in the world.

"Let's get our axes," she directed, pulling him by the hand to the counter.

By the time they had finished their food, Chris was absolutely beating Street.

"Are you sure you've never done this before?" He asked in disbelief.

"No, I swear. I'm just as surprised as you are," she answered as she observed the way her axes had all landed within or just next to the bullseye.

Street came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her midsection. Then, he whispered in her ear, "I shouldn't be surprised. You're so incredible," and kissed her cheek. She spun around in his arms and kissed him.

They heard a clatter somewhere in the distance, but the kiss was too good to care about anything else happening.

That clatter was an ax falling to the floor.

Nora Fowler swore as she quickly bent over to pick up the ax she had dropped. Her hands were shaking a little as she gripped the ax and set it down, unable to hold anything at the moment.

"You good?" A friend asked.

"Yeah, just take my turn for me," Fowler answered and took a sip of her beer.

She looked back over at Chris and Street who had not stopped kissing. When she had arrived with some old Army buddies, she saw Chris and Street at the furthest ax throwing station. She had planned to say hi before leaving, but catching up with her Army friends distracted her.

Still, every chance glance over at her fellow officers, she observed them smiling and laughing, and if she didn't know any better, she would have assumed it was a date. But, they are teammates, so that wasn't possible. And yet, she just saw them kissing. That was definitely not teammate behavior. Nora didn't want to judge. She couldn't judge. They were two very skilled, hard-working officers, and Chris, well, she is a shining beacon of hope for other women interested in joining SWAT. Chris is one of Fowler's personal heroes.

This relationship with another officer doesn't change that.

How could it? They looked so happy, especially Chris. Chris always looked so serious on the job, and even when they would hang out after shift, there always seemed to be a tightness in her shoulders, an invisible thread pulling her to stand upright at attention at all times. That's why it looked so strange seeing Chris with Street like this. It wasn't out of the ordinary for the two of them to hang out. But that tension in her shoulders was missing. What seemed odd to Nora, she realized, was that Chris looked not only happy, but relaxed, maybe even at peace.

Nora lives by the rules- that's what the Army taught her to do. But, returning stateside and seeing the world in a different light made her realize that some rules were meant to be broken, and maybe the rule that SWAT teammates can't date is one of them, she wondered.

Chris cupped Street's cheeks, and it felt like a moment she shouldn't be watching, so she finally pulled her gaze away.

"Stop pouting," Chris said.
