Prompt - "I can't believe they never told me..."

Papa Primo sat at his desk, making a list of exactly what needed to be done in the coming days for the next three rituals. The sunlight cascading through the open window to his left illuminated the very unfortunately blank paper that taunted him. Being the leader of the clergy- though very rewarding in some aspects, and certainly good for worshipping the Dark One in the highest level -was a taxing position. Perhaps, Primo thought, he should step away from the work for a bit. It had been quite some time since he'd socialized with other clergy members, as he had spent his morning reviewing the ritual schedules and reorganizing the faithful (and messy) work of the Cardinals and their Ghouls.

So, Primo made up his mind. Anything was better than making another list of dates and times and locations among other things. Again. He rose from his seat and stepped out of his office, and, as timing would have it, literally bumped into Cardinal Copia.

"Oh!" The Cardinal looked up at Primo, dazed and embarrassed. "My apologies, Papa. Um, hey uh- where are you headed?"

Primo smiled, "It's alright, Cardinal. I'm going down to the west hall. Are the Ghouls still rehearsing?"

"Yes, but Papa, you see- there's um, well I mean, Cardinal Cr-" Copia tensed and stopped short, and Primo raised an eyebrow. "Well I mean to say another one of your Cardinals is looking for you! Yes, yes!" Copia laughed nervously, and Primo had to hold himself back from rolling his eyes. Ever nervous was Copia.

"Where is this Cardinal?" Primo asked sternly.

"In the garden. They wanted to talk to you about something important... they're very nervous, Papa. If I may suggest something, please just be, uh..." The Cardinal paused, taking a moment to search for the right words as he slicked back his hair, "Just uh, listen to them, you know?"

Primo nodded, and tried to hide his confusion. Had this other Cardinal done something egregious? He quickly thanked Copia and headed down the hall at a steady pace. Whatever this was about, it was clearly of importance.

And then, a voice interrupted his movement.

"Hey Primo!"

Primo sighs, already growing annoyed. He turned to see his younger brother, Terzo, waving from his room.

"Terzo." Primo began to take a step, hoping the small acknowledgment would satisfy whatever interaction Terzo needed.

"Papa wait-!" Terzo walked up to his doorway, placing both hands on either side of the frame and leaning out. "Cardinal Crow was looking for you!"

Primo now fully turned to face Terzo, who quickly covered his mouth, eyes wide.

"Cardinal Crow...? There is no Cardinal with that name." He took a few steps toward Terzo, who seemed to shrink back, his expression growing more guilty by the second. "Terzo, who exactly is looking for me? Cardinal Copia had already informed me that someone was in the garden, awaiting my presence, but he did not give a name..."

Terzo shook his head, "Papa- Primo, please don't be mad at them, they-"

"Who is waiting for me, Terzo?"

"I can't- I- Listen, they wanted to talk to you about this! They're not going by their old name anymore!"

Primo paused, his temper growing hot. "Terzo, chiarire."
